INTRODUCING VIXEY 🐾
Vixey is a sweet, fun-loving Siberian Husky looking for a patient, understanding home through PAWS Rescue, Inc. She needs a home that will continue showing her she’s safe and doesn’t have to fend for herself anymore. She’s about 1.5 years old and around 38 lbs—small in size, big in personality.
Despite typical husky worries, Vixey has been an absolute joy in her foster home. She’s well-mannered, affectionate once comfortable, and loves sunbathing, squeaky balls, fish skins, bully sticks, and collagen rolls (she even saves some for later!). A 6-foot fenced yard is required for safety, even though she’s never tried to escape.
Vixey truly thrives with other dogs and needs a dog companion in her forever home. She does best with dogs her size or larger, preferably a non-dominant male (a non-dominant female may also be considered). She looks to other dogs for confidence and comfort and enjoys playing with them. She may softly growl if another dog tries to take her treats, so a home that understands canine boundaries is important.
Because of her past, Vixey can be shy at first and may keep her distance. She has never shown aggression toward people and works through new or stressful situations with reassurance, treats, and love (sometimes with a little husky-style protest). She’s kennel trained and is learning that being inside is safe—another dog helps her feel confident indoors. A dog door is preferred but not required.
Vixey does best with teenagers and adults; younger children are an unknown. She can be startled by fast movements or loud noises and may seek a safe spot until she feels secure. Once trust is built, her playful and loving personality really shines. She enjoys walks on leash, after she is settled and comfortable with the family. DECOMPRESSION TIME IS A MUST!
Vixey is a special girl who just needs the right home to continue blossoming. With patience, structure, and a canine buddy, she will make a wonderful, loyal companion. 💙🐕
