URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED – WANDA Wanda’s story is a heartbreaking one. She was found in a field beside her deceased husky companion and would not leave his side. Despite everything she had endured, Wanda remained gentle and trusting. She was taken to a veterinary hospital, where she was examined, cleared medically, and brought fully up to date on vaccinations. She initially went back with the finder as a temporary foster, but while outside on a tether for a potty break, Wanda panicked, broke free, and was missing overnight. She was thankfully recovered the next day in a nearby field. Wanda is now safe at Jerome Animal Shelter, but she urgently needs a foster home or adopter so she does not have to remain in a kennel environment. She has already been through significant trauma and would do best in a calm, secure home where she can decompress and feel safe. Wanda is shy and timid, and so far has shown to be okay with other dogs, children, and cats. About Wanda: Approximate age: 4 years Female Possible Kelpie / Shepherd / Husky mix Gentle, loyal, and clearly bonded to people once she feels secure Wanda has already lost so much. She deserves a soft place to land and someone willing to give her the stability she’s been missing.
