Story
Meet Okami (pronounced oh-kah-me)Okami lives up to his Japanese name sake as it symbolizes courage, loyalty, strength and guardianship! Though he`s not a `wolf` and does not have any of the wolf tendency`s he does have a great spirit which we love about him. Okami is a year and a half and is going through the adolescence stage in life. He will need some help with the basics such as crate training and basic manners. He`s extremely eager to learn and when he looks up at you with those two different colored eyes you will instantly fall in love! Okami doesn`t share well with other dogs so he will have to be the only dog in the home but he can enjoy playdates with other dogs with proper monitoring. He enjoys all activities like hiking or neighborhood walks and car rides. He`s friendly with all people - greeting them exuberantly. If he sounds like the dog you have been waiting for then please come to our Boston location meet him - he`s not a fan of the shelter so the sooner you get here the sooner he can be free to add some excitement to your home!My friends describe me as: Adventurous, playful and affectionateOkami is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. For more information on this or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston please visit us during our adoption center hours: Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, Tuesdays by appointment only from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Mondays & Holidays. For information about our adoption process click here

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: YesGood with kids: YesCrate trained: MostlyHouse Trained: YesMax is a sweet, cuddly guy who loves nothing more than curling up next to his people and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. He’s a low energy pup whose idea of a good time is snuggling up on the couch. Max is looking for a loving home where he can feel secure and continue to build his confidence!Max can be on the shy side during initial meetings. He likes to take his time feeling comfortable with new people, and he hopes his forever family will understand that and advocate for his need to take greetings at his own pace. Max also appreciates slow intros to new dogs, especially if they’re bigger than he is. He does wonderfully with dogs whose calm energy matches his. Max is fabulous with kids and cats!Max is fully housetrained. He’s been working hard on his crate training and is making great progress. He may whine for a few minutes in the hope that you’ll change your mind and let him out, but he settles down and can spend the whole night in his crate. Max has great leash manners and enjoys walks, though he may need extra encouragement in busy or loud settings.Max is a handsome, affectionate guy who can’t wait to snuggle his way into your heart. Could he be the one you’ve been looking for? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Meet your next companion, the very handsome Wolfe! Wolfe is looking for his next family, and he would love to spend his time playing fetch and going for nice sniffy walks with you! He knows how to use his howl to tell you what he wants, and when comfortable he can`t get enough pets! Wolfe has a positive history living with dogs and could do so again starting with complete separation and slow introductions, and it would be great if you could bring your dog with you in a separate car so they can meet here first before going home! He has never lived with a cat that we know of, so also starting out with separation and slow introductions we think he could do well! We also think he could do well living in a home with children with appropriate supervision and giving him time and space to settle in!
