Story
It’s Miller time! Miller is a beautiful golden-mix puppy who is about three months old and 12 pounds. He is confident, independent, very happy, and has big paws so he plans to grow much bigger. Miller enjoys communicating -- usually loudly -- to let you know he is happy, hungry, frustrated, playing, over-tired, or just wants to remind you that he is around.    Miller gets along well with other dogs, likes car rides, rolling in the snow, and all adventures. He enjoys exploring but is good about checking back in and sticking close by. He seems very smart and is highly food motivated so training should go well. He is typically mouthy as retrievers are, and is happiest when prancing around with something in his mouth or chewing contently on a toy or bone. He finds shoes irresistible, so his new family will need to redirect him to appropriate chewable items.   We are progressing nicely with potty training even though the bitter cold is making it more challenging. He is crate trained and settles in quickly. Miller sleeps in his kennel for pretty much as long as you would like -- 8+ hours, and he is content in his kennel during the work day for up to 5 hours with his toys and chewies.   Each day, Miller brings brightness to the world and happily shares his love with others. While still just a young pup, Miller will need a patient, consistant owner who will take time to  help him learn all he needs to know to reach his full potential and become a well-trained, beautiful, loving pet.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hey there, I am Marty, a 12 week old lab mix!  I am such a handsome, big boy who loves life!  Currently, I am living in my foster house with my sister, Mila, and we love to play hard. We are also living with these two huge dogs called Great Danes, and a cat. I don't care too much about the cat, but I do like the other dogs. They don't pay too much attention to me, but sometimes I bark at them to get their attention because I want to play so badly. My foster family has two kids, and I love playing with them!  I am your typical puppy, working really hard on potty training.  While I still have lots of accidents in the house, I am learning to tell my people when I need to go outside.  When my foster family is away from the house, I am in the kennel so I don't get into trouble.  I also sleep in a kennel at night for the same reason. I love toys, and I will already fetch the ball if someone throws it!  While I love to play and be active, I am such a good napper and cuddle bud!  If you are looking for a smart pup who will give you the best of both worlds, I am your guy! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
