Kira was surrendered from a commercial breeder and is 1 year old golden doodle. Kira means sunshine. Unfortunately, her previous life does not appear to have include any sunshine. Now in foster she is very slowly starting to shine. Things required for her to continue to grow include: -A quiet home. -A fully fenced yard. -Tennis balls, beta or Nyla bones, stuffed animals. -Lots of time to warm up. -She prefers female humans but is getting better and warming up to males, if a male is included in her new home they will need to be very patient. -A calm fur buddy would be great! She sleeps thru the night in a crate beside the bed. She is not crated during the day and does well. While she does not tell you she needs to potty she has very few accidents in the house if taken out on a schedule. She rides excellent in the car. She weighs about 40 pounds - the perfect medium size! Hi! My name is Daphne. Pleased to meet you. I am a 5-year old mini-goldendoodle. My foster mom says I got all of the golden personality, but way less of the fluff. She's right, I'm only 20 lbs and my curls are on point, if I do say so myself. I've been bunking with several foster siblings and get along with everyone, but I am ready to find my own home and would also be fine being the only queen in the castle. Here is some more about me from my foster mom's perspective. Socialization: Daphne is friendly and good-natured. She can be a little shy in new situations, but warms up quickly. She loves a car ride and is a pretty brave girl on new adventures. She likes to be included! She has done well with both male and female dogs in the home setting. She will correct dogs that get too pushy, but is appropriate about it. Daphne has met the neighborhood children and liked them. Training: Daphne knows sit. She walks well on leash, although she is working on not being 'the leader' and trying to pull. She has done very well with house-training (regression can sometimes occur in new environments). Crate trained: Daphne is crate trained and stays in a medium-sized crate while her foster parents are at work. She will rest quietly and does not whine or fuss as a general rule. Activity level/requirements: Daphne is a medium energy dog. She enjoys a good walk, but does not need to go miles. She does like to run and explore around the yard during her potty times. Fence requirements: Daphne does not require a physical fence. She is also not a dog that is reliable on recall at this time. She seem to like the idea of chasing cars that go by and will run to the end of her leash. Boundary training is not an option. Personality: Daphne is a little love. She likes to be around her people, will totally do a good snuggle session on the couch, but does not need attention constantly either. She will sleep all night in crate or on a bed and is content to get up whenever the humans do. Health: Daphne is UTD on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, & on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. She had a dental at time of her spay. Because she has poodle in her pedigree, she will require routine grooming to keep her locks in order.
