Story
"Hiya, my name is Zeus! I am a 1.5 year old German shepherd husky mix. I once had an owner but he reached out to Summits Sanctuary and told them he was moving and if they didnt take me he was taking me to be euthanized. I am still not really sure what I did wrong but my great friends at Summits constantly tell me it was nothing I did, and I am absolutely perfect in every way. I love to play as much as possible and my favorite game to play is fetch. I will play as long as you let me, and I even do the cutest little happy hop when I catch the ball! Along with playing, my other favorite things are snuggles and belly scratches. Ill love just laying in your lap and getting all the love possible. I am the true definition of sunshine and when you look at my sweet face you cant help but smile. I mean, how awesome is life?! As happy as I am at Summit's Sanctuary, I know that them taking me in saved my life and they have plenty of other fur-babies to save just like me! I want to thank them by finding the most perfect family and living the best life I possibly can. I am one in a million and I know my family is out there just waiting for me. I am recently neutered and up to date on all my vet checks. When youre ready to come meet me and fall instantly in love, please bring a ball and we can play fetch too! See ya soon!" Barbie truly believes that girls just wanna have fun! She loves to play with her siblings and loves to play in water. She isn't only fun-loving Barbie, though. She also has her smarts. She does well crated, walks on leash, and knows sit. She's also clever enough to climb chain link, so needs a solid fence. ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~ Est DOB: Feb 2023~ Est weight: 55# ~ Adoption details: calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJanuary 22, 2025, 7:07 pm

Story
Drifter knows one thing his people are known for - he enjoyed a life out and about. Now he's settled in the shelter, hoping for a savvy home that will love him and keep him safe.  What he doesn't know about huskies is that they are talkers and athletes - he is a chill, quiet dude. Drifter loves people enough that he will actually listen to things like sit and down, and he shows signs of being housetrained as well. He doesn't care to share his glorious self with other canines, so he needs to be the king of his empty (no other pets) kingdom.    ~  Est DOB: Aug 2022 ~  Intake weight:  56# ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlDecember 22, 2024, 7:46 pm

Story
Handsome Benny is ready to be the apple of your eye! This lean, leggy ladies man with the cute curly Q tail is ready to win you over with his charming nature. He is a happy and friendly goober but definitely still a young boy in need of stimulation and interaction. If we are being flat-out honest...he's something of a derp right now. He has done well with other dogs who accept his derpy young boy behavior. Benny is a bit too clever if left outside alone, so needs a tall, solid fence or to enjoy romps and adventures on leash. He also can't resist chasing cats.   ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  May 2022~  Intake weight:  49# ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Juno is an overgrown puppy!  He has that wide-open loves everything attitude. 'Everything' includes people and treats and play - tug and fetch are his very favorites. Once he's got his energy out, he is ready to focus on learning new things. He thinks new things are pretty amazing! In case you couldn't tell, Juno is pretty excitable. Be ready to have fun burning off some energy with this fellow. You can also have great conversations with him, he loves to share his opinion. Junior is too much for  small children and is more compatible with a laid-back dog who won't feed off his energy or try to share his toys. He also needs a solid fence. ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB: Oct 2021 ~  Intake weight:  60# ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJanuary 22, 2025, 8:35 pm

Story
Princess is a beautiful little girl that is mostly husky with a bit of Great Pyrenees in her. She has the Great Pyr double dew claws on her back feet, but she is still small for a husky (45 pounds or so). She is SUPER sweet, loves to give kisses, and is easy peasy on the potty habits. She is crate trained and is allowed to roam free in the house in my absence. She must stay on leash though because she has that husky spirit and wants to roam. Her father was a pure husky (Sam that I have posted as well) and her mother was husky with some Great Pyrenees in her (breeding mistake by backyard breeder). Regardless, this little girl deserves the absolute best home ever. She has so much love to give, is quiet, and so well behaved. She is a keeper, so don't delay so I do not change my mind. lol She is on the slow kill plan for heartworms and the only remaining treatment required will be giving her the monthly heartworm prevention all dogs should be on anyway. All other meds have been given and process is complete. She will need to be heartworm tested in October 2025 to make sure she is heartworm negative at that point which is part of a normal annual vet appointment anyway. The $275 fee helps with rescuer's cost so another life can be saved. Gadsden, AL Email: auburnplayer54@gmail.com
