Story
Lily came to Hooties after her family had to move into an apartment and unfortunately wasn’t able to take her with them.  She’s a sweet girl who absolutely loves to snuggle!    Age? 4-5 years old   Favorite activity? Playing with her foster sister or snuggling on the couch.    Crate Trained? She hates a crate!   Potty-training- Lily is fully housebroken How does he do with kids? Lily loves everybody!    How does he do with other dogs? She does great with other dogs.    How does he do with cats? She could care less about the cats.       Is she Hypoallergenic? No. She’s a husky;)    How big will she get? She’s around 55 pounds.    Training? She some basic commands.     She’s looking for a home that will love her snuggles as much as he loves giving them. A home that will give her lots of exercise and let her play with all the toys!   What's included in her adoption fee?  Her adoption fee is $350 and includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella, influenza, rabies, and boosters when appropriate. De-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. Each of our dogs also receive flea and heartworm medication every month.   We look to place our dogs in homes where they are loved, allowed on furniture and treated like family so please do not apply if you are looking for an "outside dog" or if you have any dogs who live outside only. She’s a big girl so for the safety of all involved, we want you to consider this when applying to adopt. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you warm at night or snuggled by your side while watching TV, one who will enjoy playing in the yard, or one who’ll enjoy going and doing whatever the day finds, this may be the girl for you. Lily’s wish list consists of an inside forever home. A home with lots of toys and pet parents who understand the time commitment that a new dog requires. We’d like to see Lily have a fenced in yard to be able to roam and play, but that’s not a deal breaker.    If you think you have the perfect home for Lily and have questions, please contact us at HootiesHaven@yahoo.com We do out of state adoptions, but require you to come here and meet the pup if you are approved to adopt. Please feel free to ask for more details. We work hard to place our fosters in the very best homes. Please be aware that we have a lengthy application. Our application weeds out those who are not serious about adopting. When filling out the application, please be sure to include as much information and be as detailed as possible- your explanation could be what sets your application aside from the rest.    Please, if you are not serious about adoption, or if you are considering another dog, we respectfully ask you to please not proceed as our volunteers have other full time jobs and reading through applications and calling vet references is time consuming.   Please know, if you’re asked to come for a meet and greet, it’s just that- you are coming to meet the dog. We are the dogs advocate, so we are watching to see how the dog interacts with the family, and how the family interacts with the dog.  Our goal is to place all of our dogs in the home that’s best suited for them.    We also ask that you be mindful of the scheduled time for a meet and greet. While we understand things happen, our time is also important, as we have families and full time jobs, so please be mindful of that as well.    Link to Lily’s Adoption Application:    https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/22197/generic ##1990133##

Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullName: Skye Breed: Husky Sex: Female Approx. DOB: 5/1/22 Location: Dallas, GA RESCUING SKYE Animal control reached out to us for assistance trapping a beautiful husky that had been running loose for a few weeks. Thankfully, we were able to catch her pretty quickly. We noticed she had an electric collar on and thought for sure she would be reclaimed quickly. But, we were wrong. This sweet girl sat in the pound for a month. She was scared and didn’t show well, which put her at risk of being euthanized if AC ran out of space. We weren't going to let that happen to Skye; we helped her once and we were determined to do it again. We reached out to our fosters and one of our people stepped up, so Skye got her Freedom Ride on 11/14/2023! ABOUT SKYE Skye is your typical loveable, silly, gorgeous husky! Did you see those amazing blue eyes?! She is a playful girl with a lot of energy but also enjoys getting plenty of affection from her people. She does great with the two female dogs in her foster home but isn't a big fan of the male dog's intense energy. However, Skye would likely do well with any dog as long as there were proper introductions and the energy wasn't too overwhelming. She did well around the toddler she met but would do best with older children since she could be startled by the loud noises and sudden movements of younger children. Her favorite activities are to run, chase and be chased, go for walks, and play with her Kong moose toy! Skye is housebroken and crate trained, does great in the car, tolerates baths (they are not her favorite), and is very smart. She has so much potential and personality! Skye's perfect family would be with people that are willing to spend the time to get her to trust them. She is particularly wary of men until she knows they will be kind to her, so she needs understanding until she gets to know you. However, once you gain her trust, she wants to be attached to your hip! She loves to run, so having another dog she gets along with and can play hard or someone who would like to take her on runs, long walks, or even hikes is a must. Even though she is young, Skye does so well on a leash. She does have high energy during play time but absolutely loves to relax and cuddle with her human too. Her foster mom says, "She's just an all-around spectacular girl! She has the best heart and just wants someone to love and trust. She loves immune boost jerky and all the pets. She eats super well twice a day. She will brighten your life!" What more could you want in a new family member?  ADOPTING SKYE Skye is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. She is on monthly preventative and eating premium grain-free dry dog food.  Her adoption fee is $300.  If you are interested in meeting or possibly adopting Skye, please complete an adoption application at:  https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application.  If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@friendstotheforlorn.org.www.savingpitbulls.orgMarch 23, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
Koda is a gorgeous Siberian Husky. He was placed with us temporarily until we can find him a new home. Unfortunately we can’t keep him due to our busy work schedules. He needs a lot of activity. Koda is perfectly healthy and very sweet. He keeps to himself but gets along with everyone and is very agreeable. He’s fully house trained and knows all of his basic commands.

Story
3 year old Pit/Husky Mix. 60-70 lbs.Aria is a sweet, happy girl with a remarkable pitty personailty. She takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once she knows you can be trusted, she is your shadow. You will have a best friend for life. She loves to cuddle and be near her people. She will roll over for belly rubs, or just sit between your legs and melt into you. Aria is a playful girl and loves to play with toys, chase balls and chew on chew toys. She enjoys talking long walks and playing fetch. If you're not available to throw a ball or toy for her, she'll toss it herself.Aria walks well on-leash, is crate trained and potty trained, however if she could choose, she would rather not have to spend time in her crate, she would choose to be out with her people.Aria is good with most dogs, but too interested in the cats in her foster home. She would do best in a home without cats.Adoption fee $300. Aria is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. To apply visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/   ##1661489##

Story
Hi, hello. My name is Odin. I'm new to love, but I make sure to give all my love away. I am a certified good boy, and I live by my own rules. I'm a rebel, but I'm loyal. I enjoy cheek scratches and butt pats. And bacon, I love bacon! (Begging strips). I'm honestly a hermit, I enjoy self time. But I'll occasionally come lick your face then get back to my self duties. I'm pretty calm, and loafing around is my jam. But I'll make time for you in my schedule. I enjoy tiny humans, they're interesting and I'm new to cats, but they're pretty cool. I like when they lay with me. But yeah, I'm looking for love, so if I strike your interest hit me up!!Please email renegaderescuega@gmail.com for an application. March 17, 2024, 9:36 am
