Story
This beautiful blue eyed boy showed up at our acreage a few weeks ago and as it turns out, he came to us from a neighbor who could no longer keep him. He is an incredibly smart, affectionate, and trainable young dog. He loves people, learns very quickly, and has a lot of wonderful qualities. Unfortunately, we have discovered that Ozzy has a very high prey drive and is not safe to live with cats. Although we would have loved to keep him, because we live with cats, we have made the heartbreaking decision that the responsible thing to do is find him a home where he can be successful. He is just over 1 year old, we were told he is a purebred Siberian Husky but he does seem a little on the small side. He loves other dogs and would probably be happiest in a home with a doggie friend. He also adores people and has a high willingness to try to please. He is highly food motivated, very fast and agile, personally I think if his new owners wanted to do agility with him he could be a total star.

Story
***Nola is currently on a sleepover! Wish her luck!Meet Nola, an energetic and intelligent girl who is looking for an active, experienced home ready to keep both her mind and body busy.Nola is a playful young dog with lots of enthusiasm for life and always ready for the next adventure. She’s also very food motivated and eager to engage, making her a great candidate for continued training and enrichment activities.Like many high-energy adolescent dogs, Nola is still learning appropriate outlets for her energy and will thrive in a home that can provide plenty of exercise, structure, mental enrichment, and supervision as she continues to mature.Nola would do best with adopters who understand active working-type dogs and are excited to continue guiding her using force-free, positive reinforcement training methods. With consistency, engagement, and appropriate outlets, Nola has all the potential to become an incredibly fun and rewarding companion.A little bit about Nola:Kids: Older children (13+) recommended due to prey drive. All interactions should be supervised by an adult.Cats/Small Animals: No cats or small animals in the home due to prey drive.Dogs: Has previously lived with other dogs. Potential for a select large dog companion pending a successful dog-to-dog introduction. No small dogs in home.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Chiquita weighs 55lbs, is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
🏠Currently  in a Toronto  foster home Elsa is a 2-year-old female Wolfdog, weighing 23kg. She was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now, she’s looking for a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Elsa is full of energy, curiosity, and love, making every day an adventure!Personality & BehaviorElsa is a bright and affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She expresses her excitement with joyful jumps when greeting her favorite humans. While this is endearing, she already understands the "sit" command, so with consistent training, she can learn to greet politely. Elsa thrives on human interaction and will form a deep bond with her owner through love, training, and patience. She is still learning how to socialize with other dogs properly. While she is not aggressive, she needs time and guidance to build confidence in dog interactions. Currently, she is undergoing training to help her navigate social situations with other pups. With continued support, she will improve and learn to play in a balanced way.Activity & Training NeedsAs a Wolfdog, Elsa is naturally athletic and has impressive jumping ability. She needs an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise to stay happy and well-behaved. A daily routine of long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime will help her burn off energy and settle calmly at home. She is currently in training, where she follows a structured routine that includes three outdoor exercise sessions a day for potty breaks and play. If her new family maintains a similar schedule, Elsa will quickly adjust to her new home.Elsa is an intelligent dog who picks up training quickly. She already knows "sit" and is learning to wait calmly for treats. With consistent training, she has the potential to learn many more commands and become a well-mannered companion. The Perfect Home for ElsaElsa will thrive in a home with:✔️ An active family who enjoys outdoor activities✔️ Someone committed to training and bonding with her✔️ Experience with large dogs (or a willingness to learn)Elsa is young and still learning, but she is full of potential. With love, patience, and the right training, she will grow into a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog to share adventures with, Elsa is waiting for you!
