Story
Age: 3 yearsWeight: 23.6 kgA little bit about Schnoopy: - cats / small animals unknown - children okay - potential for select dog in home pending successful dog-to-dogReady to embark on her newest endeavor after a rough start to life, it's Schnoopy! Described as a great mom to her puppies, she'd love a turn to receive all of the affection and attention. Schnoopy is very friendly with everyone she meets, but can be a bit jumpy if she's too excited. The only thing this sweet girl loves more than being with her people is getting active! Whether it's romping outdoors through the snow, playing fetch, or going for a walk, Schnoopy will make a great companion for a family looking for an adventure buddy! Although it's unknown how she would handle being around cats or small animals, Schnoopy has shown that she may like to have another active dog in the home or go for regular doggy play dates! She even did well with kids, however, it's important that all interactions are supervised by an adult as children may not be able to understand when Schnoopy would like some alone time. This exuberant girl will keep everybody on their toes as she is quite mischievous at times (she may try to sneak food off the counter if it's left unattended!). Schnoopy has shown that she is pretty smart and can be a great listener. Finally, you'll be astounded at how expressive she can be and how great her singing voice is. A dog this great won't be here for long so don't miss your chance; make an appointment to adopt Schnoopy today!

Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but would love to join her forever home in Canada

Story
McFly has had a bit of a rough start in life & could really use a champion.   He was adopted as a puppy during Covid so he was rarely alone & he also didn’t meet many people outside of his home.   This has resulted in a lack of socialization skills & suffering from some separation anxiety.   His family later went through some turmoil with major life changes & ultimately made the decision to return him.    The upheaval has left this sweet boy stressed & confused. Strengths:  -Smart, loyal boy who learns quickly-Great with women -Very gentle with children-Sweet & affectionate with people he knows-Does well with most other dogs, but can be selective -Has lived with cats-100% housebroken-Loves car rides Needs improvement: -Suffers from separation anxiety-Is wary of men, strangers & anyone with grey hair until he gets to know them -Protective of his food & needs to be separated from other dogs at feeding times-Can sometimes be jealous of the attention given to another dog instead of him   McFly needs some extra time to adjust to new people & situations.  But if given some space, patience, love & a bucketload of treats, he will befriend anyone.  He has made an impressive amount of progress since he’s been in our care and we have no doubt that with some more time & effort, he will blossom into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be!  The thing that he wants the most and we’ve been struggling to provide is stability.  He requires a safe space with someone he can rely on.  Once his world stabilizes & he can relax, a lot of his issues will hopefully start to resolve. ##2008930##

Story
Hi, I'm Foggy!About me: I am an itty bitty husky, I'm only 40lbs, but my typical husky attitude makes up for my small size. I'll give you a woo woo to tell you how happy I am to see you, or if I want a treat, or any of my other demands, however I will always gladly accept some tummy scratches in return. I have such a funny personality, I make my foster humans laugh everyday. I'm doing great on a leash and love going for my walk everyday. I'm a good girl and go outside to do my business, put myself into my kennel at bedtime and I'm a good snuggle partner, however I'll sneak into the pantry or counter surf to help myself to treats. I guess that's why I need my kennel. I had to scavenge before being rescued, it's hard to resist an opportunity!Likes: Walks, my dog bed and blanket, bones to chew on, human attention, playing with other dogs!Dislikes: The one they call "vacuum".Special request: I love my walks, as huskies do, so someone who understands my need for exercise is a must! A hiking buddy? Count me in!! Or even just a daily stroll is good for me, I just love the outdoors!Kennel trained: Yes! Sometimes I even put myself in there when I know bedtime is near.House trained: Yes! The humans have a doggy door, but I've never had an accident even before I knew how to use it.Dogs: Yes! I love to play. Some get scared of my husky grumble but I'm just telling you how excited I am!Cats: Yes, I met one at a pet store and gave her a sniff!Children: Right now little humans are scary as they can try to grab me. I'm sure one day I'll be best buddies with them, just give me some time.
