Story
Elsa is a 1-year-old female Wolfdog, weighing 23kg. She was rescued just in time from a shelter where she was at risk of euthanasia. Now, she’s looking for a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Elsa is full of energy, curiosity, and love, making every day an adventure! Personality & Behavior Elsa is a bright and affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She expresses her excitement with joyful jumps when greeting her favorite humans. While this is endearing, she already understands the "sit" command, so with consistent training, she can learn to greet politely. Elsa thrives on human interaction and will form a deep bond with her owner through love, training, and patience. She is still learning how to socialize with other dogs properly. While she is not aggressive, she needs time and guidance to build confidence in dog interactions. Currently, she is undergoing training to help her navigate social situations with other pups. With continued support, she will improve and learn to play in a balanced way. Activity & Training Needs As a Wolfdog, Elsa is naturally athletic and has impressive jumping ability. She needs an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise to stay happy and well-behaved. A daily routine of long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime will help her burn off energy and settle calmly at home. She is currently in training, where she follows a structured routine that includes three outdoor exercise sessions a day for potty breaks and play. If her new family maintains a similar schedule, Elsa will quickly adjust to her new home. Elsa is an intelligent dog who picks up training quickly. She already knows "sit" and is learning to wait calmly for treats. With consistent training, she has the potential to learn many more commands and become a well-mannered companion. The Perfect Home for Elsa Elsa will thrive in a home with: ✔️ An active family who enjoys outdoor activities ✔️ Someone committed to training and bonding with her ✔️ Experience with large dogs (or a willingness to learn) Elsa is young and still learning, but she is full of potential. With love, patience, and the right training, she will grow into a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog to share adventures with, Elsa is waiting for you!

Story
This 3-year-old Husky–Shepherd mix has a strong husky personality and an independent streak, enjoying social time on his own terms. He knows sit and paw and is food motivated, making continued training rewarding and fun. With his higher energy level, he would be a great match for an active home and would make an excellent outdoor companion. A home with older children is recommended, and a fenced yard would be ideal to give him space to safely burn off energy.Size: Medium 27.7kg /60lbsChildren: Children 16+ recommendedDogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyleCats: Not tested with cats, slow introductions recommended

Story
Rosie is a lovely young dog. She plays independently with her toys (and will also happily chew other things, so limiting access to items that aren’t hers is important). She plays beautifully with her foster brother, Husky, Jasper, and with other dogs. She responds well to corrections from Jasper and never escalates, just walks away and minds her business. Her leash walking is coming along nicely, though she still needs reminders about pulling. Her recall is good and improving; while it’s strongest when Jasper is nearby, she has also shown good independent recall at the park. She would do very well in a home with another confident dog, but could also thrive as an only dog with enough work, attention, and mental enrichment to keep her young mind busy.Rosie has been wonderful with every dog she has met at the park and has proven to be great with toddlers as well. Recently, she calmly allowed a 16-month-old to lie on her without concern—she simply stretched out and relaxed. She can be a little enthusiastic with face-licking, but responds well to correction and moves on easily.Rosie was an outdoor dog prior but is loving inside life and loves to snuggle and cuddle in warmth and comfort. She is learning on communicating when she needs to go outside, but gladly follows jasper out to do her business. Rosie is also crate trained. She really is one of kind and is just loving her new life. Anyone would be lucky to have her!

Dexter would love to find his new family soon! To help, his adoption fee has been partially sponsored by generous donors!EHS volunteer comments: "Dexter is a sweet, playful dog who likes nothing better than to have the run of a big pen. He thoroughly enjoys himself running around the pen, sniffing, rolling in the snow, and climbing big hills of snow. Life is wonderful when you are a big dog in a big pen!""Dexter is the best! He can be a little nervous, but warms up quickly. He really liked when I scratched his shoulders, he leaned up against me for more. He takes treats very gently and his house training is good. Above all, Dexter loves his walks. He is good on leash, and gives lots of check ins. He loves sniffing around and trampling through the snow.Dexter is a laid-back guy who's all about enjoying the simple things in life. Dexter loves to hang out with his people and also enjoys heading out for relaxed walks, especially when there's snow on the ground. If you're looking for a chill companion who will happily keep you company and join you for peaceful strolls, Dexter could be your perfect match. Come meet him at the Edmonton Humane Society! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 32.1 Age: 5yrs 1mths 1wks
