Dakota // Age: 3 Years // Sex: Female // Breed: Pom/Husky // Weight: 20 Pounds // Location: Medicine Hat, Alberta // Good with Dogs? Yes // Good with Cats? Potentially—she may playfully chase but redirects well // Good with Kids? Yes // ❄️ Meet Dakota: The Sassy Snow Queen ❄️ With her icy-blue eyes, confident personality, and signature husky attitude, Dakota is impossible to ignore. She is social, affectionate, playful, and always ready to share her opinion especially when she feels she deserves more attention. ❄️💙 When Dakota wants affection or a snack, she stands on her hind legs and adorably begs with her front paws. She loves meeting new people, adores children, and settled into her foster home as though she had always belonged there. She’s also a vocal girl who whines for attention and sassily talks back when corrected. 🐾🗣️ Dakota has a medium-high energy level and would enjoy a daily walk, active playtime, or a spacious, securely fenced yard. She loves splashing in the pool, tossing a ball around, and playing rowdily with her foster sibling. She would enjoy another playful dog in her home, but it isn’t required. 💦🎾 This clever, food-motivated girl already knows sit, stay, lie down, and speak. She walks well on leash, sleeps peacefully in her kennel, and relaxes when left alone. She is generally house trained but has had some accidents on the concrete basement floor, so she will need continued reinforcement and limited basement access while adjusting. 🦴🏡 Dakota may playfully chase cats but stops when redirected, so thoughtful introductions and supervision will be important. She is looking for an active family that will appreciate her loving heart, playful spirit, and hilariously sassy commentary. 🐕❤️ Likes: Attention, children, meeting new people, playing with dogs, walks, pool time, balls, treats, talking back, and playfully nibbling her foster sibling’s ankles 🥰 Dislikes: Being ignored and being told she has had enough snacks 🙄 If you think Dakota will be a good fit for your family please apply at: https://www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com/dog-application-form

Story
Meet Kodiak a striking 6-year-old red Husky! With his handsome looks, gentle treat-taking manners, and knowledge of cues like sit, down, and shake a paw, he`s sure to win over Husky lovers. Like many Huskies, he`s smart, active, and looking for a family that enjoys going out for daily adventures and keeping his busy mind engaged. He`s searching for an adult-only home with experienced dog owners who understand the breed and can provide structure, consistency, and positive training. Due to his potential to resource guard some items and his reserved nature when meeting new people, he`ll do best with adopters who are happy to take the time to build trust and support his ongoing training. He cannot live with cats or small animals, and any canine companions should be introduced in a neutral setting. A securely fenced yard, daily leash walks, enrichment feeding activities, and commitment to his grooming needs are all part of the package. In return, you`ll gain a loyal, intelligent companion who`s ready to form a strong bond with the right person and become a wonderful adventure buddy! Size: Medium 24kg / 53 lbsChildren: Adult only home pleaseCats: Untested, slow introductions would be recomendedDogs: May do best as a solo dog or with quiet dogs of same size

Story
Hi… I’m Lala 💕 I’m a 3-year-old husky girl, about 15kg, a little smaller than most huskies—but perfectly squishy and cute if you ask me. I have odd eyes (yes, I know, they’re gorgeous 👀✨) and a fluffy body that’s made for hugs. My life didn’t start out easy. I was once on the list at a city shelter, but kind humans gave me a second chance. When I was rescued, I had heartworm, but it was caught early and I finished my treatment like a champ 💪 Now I’m healthy and ready to start my real life—with you. I love people. Like… really love them. I don’t care if we just met—I’ll happily come say hi, wag my tail, and ask for your attention. I adore gentle hands, affection, and being noticed. If you look at me, I’ll probably already be walking toward you 🥰 I get along great with other dogs too! I enjoy having friends and exploring the world together. On walks, I can be a little curious (okay… very curious 👃), so sometimes I pull on the leash. I’m learning though! With patience and consistency, I promise I can get better. Because I spent a long time in a shelter, home life is new to me. At first, I might need a little time to adjust. I may feel anxious when left alone, and sometimes I express my feelings with husky-style howling 🎶 (I can be a bit dramatic). I’m also still learning outdoor potty routines, so I’ll need regular walks and kind guidance. That’s why I’m hoping for a family who understands huskies—or is willing to learn about us. Someone patient, steady, and ready to grow together with me. I learn fast when I’m loved, and I truly want to do well. If you choose me, I promise this: I’ll give you my whole heart. I’ll walk beside you, talk to you in my husky voice, and become your most loyal friend. With the right family, I know I can be the kind of dog who stays with you for life—through ordinary days and special ones. Could that family be you? 🐾💙

Story
At 3 years old, this friendly and spirited Husky has all the charm, personality, and sass her breed is known for. She loves her people and enjoys being part of the action, but she`s looking for a breed-savvy home that understands Husky quirks and can appreciate her strong-willed nature. She can be a little sassy in her interactions with other dogs and may do best with canine companions of a similar size and play style. An adult-only home is recommended to help set her up for success. Due to her prey drive, she is not a fit for homes with cats or other small animals. Like many Huskies, she`ll thrive with structure, consistency, and continued learning. A basic manners class or private training sessions will be required as part of her adoption to help her become the best companion she can be. If you`re an experienced Husky lover looking for a fun, affectionate, and personality-packed adventure buddy, this girl may be the perfect match!Size: Medium 15kg / 33 lbsChildren: Adult only home pleaseCats: No cats or small animals pleaseDogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyle
