Story
Meet Jersey Devil 🐾 Female | Pit Bull / Husky Mix | ~10 months old Don't let the name fool you—Jersey Devil is all heart. This beautiful girl had a rough start to life. She was found living under an abandoned house with her mom and siblings, with little to no human contact for her first five months. Because of that, Jersey is understandably shy and unsure around people. But beneath her cautious exterior is a gentle, observant pup just waiting for the right person (or people) to help her feel safe. Where Jersey truly shines is with other dogs. She absolutely loves them and thrives in any playgroup we introduce her to. Canine companions give her confidence and joy—she lights up when she's around them. For that reason, she’d do best in a home with at least one friendly, well-socialized dog to show her the ropes. Jersey Devil isn’t the kind of dog who’s going to be in your lap on day one. But if you’re patient, quiet, and understanding, you’ll get the amazing privilege of watching her slowly blossom into the dog she’s meant to be. She’s looking for a calm, stable home where she can continue to learn that people can be kind, life can be good, and love can be safe.

Story
Liv has the breathtaking blue eyes that huskies are known for, and one ear that didn't quite make the husky cut. Her personality is a lot like that ear, not quite the husky you'd expect... she's laid-back, loving, and just happy to be... Liv! She is bonded with her sister, Maddie, too. The two are rarely apart from each other, even when they have the chance for one-on-one time or switching to a different yard. As such, we are asking that the two are adopted together so that their bond is kept strong and they are given the best outcome possible. Stats: - 1-year-old Husky Mix (dad was 100% Alaskan husky, mom is rumored to be a Pit mix) - Spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives - Crate trained (food, treats, naptime, bedtime, while humans are away) - Laid-back, "no worries" personality (sometimes walks into walls...) - LOVES her sister and dog friends - Has learned that cats are friends, not food, but might really want them to be food, but understands that they're not - Great with other dogs, tasty cats, and people (after she warms up to them)

Story
Maddie is a sweet and charming husky mix who loves to be outside or inside and play, sleep, run, and just be a dog. Maddie came to W&S with her sister, Liv, at six weeks old, just needing a place to call home while they grew strong and healthy. During her time at the Sanctuary, Maddie has learned basic manners, including "sit" and is eager to learn more tricks. She is crate trained, potty trained, and a sweetheart of a dog. Our one request with Maddie is that she is adopted together with her sister, Liv. These two don't leave each others' sides often and they are happiest and healthiest when they are together. Stats: - 1-year-old female husky mix (dad was Alaskan Husky, mom was rumored to be a Pit mix) - Up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives, and is spayed - Microchipped - Loves to run and play outside with her sister and other dogs - Shy and sweet, will gladly let other dogs take the lead - Protective of her sister and other dog friends (not aggressive) - Has learned that cats are friends, not food, but will still nose them roughly just in case that changes - Crate trained (food, treats, bedtime, naptime, when humans are away) - Potty trained - Great with other dogs, cats, and people (after she warms up to them)

Story
Meet Luka, a big-hearted boy with energy to spare. Luka is striking, with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is a 2-1/2 year-old Siberian Husky and at 73 pounds, he is a strong, athletic boy with a playful spirit. He is the younger brother of Indigo, and like her, is looking for a new home where he can thrive. Luka is great with children and has a gentle, affectionate nature. He is still young and full of energy so he will do best in a home with a secure, fenced yard where he can run, explore, and burn off his energy by running zoomies. Luka would love a home that understands the Husky mindset; smart, independent and always up for a challenge. Luka is neutered, heartworm tested (negative) and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you are looking for a loyal companion, Luka might be your perfect fit.You can apply on line at www.hsvawl.org by completing the Adoption Application on the home page.September 2, 2025, 7:11 am
