Story
Milo grew up in a home with kids and loved dearly, but they had to move into a small apartment and could not take him with. Milo can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly, especially if you have treats! He does great with kids and loves to play with other dogs.  Because he loves to play, he really needs a yard he can run around in or someone who will take him on adventures. Milo is full grown at 31 pounds so we think he has more Terrier in him than Husky, but we know mom had a lot of Husky in her.  This little man will make a great family pet or companion for any dog lover.  If you would like more information, please contact the shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.February 23, 2026, 3:34 pm

Story
Atlas is looking for a new home with someone nice to go on adventures with. Located in NWA but we can transport up to 4 hours or so away. He generally gets along with dogs after a warm up and careful introduction period. He currently lives with a cat peacefully. He is defensive if someone tries to eat out of his bowl. He has only ever lived with adults. He is fine when we encounter small kids on walks but I believe he would not be suitable for living with little ones who might try to wrestle, squeeze him or get in his face because he’s is not used to that. He is ten years old but he is still getting around just fine and up for hikes and dips in the river. He has a typical sensitive stomach but that just means he can't share your pizza. He loves long car rides and catching treats tossed in the air. He is potty trained but will not hold it in all day and needs to be let out to pee regularly. He sheds that fluff, so you have to be okay with fur on you.

Story
My name is Denise… pronounced “Dee-NICE.”Yes, like the substitute teacher comedy skit. Apparently, that name is running rampant at the shelter right now — we just need an “A-A Ron” to complete the cast! But hey, I embrace it. Denise fits me just fine.I’m a 2-year-old Husky mix who arrived on February 3, 2026, from the Rice Street area here in West Memphis. A kind lady saw me almost get hit by a car and made sure I got safely to the shelter. I’m so grateful she stepped in — who knows where I’d be otherwise?Let me tell you a little about myself.I’m super sweet, housebroken, and I absolutely love being outside in the sunshine. These days the weather is hit or miss, but when the sun does come out, you’ll find me right in the middle of the yard, sitting peacefully and soaking up every warm ray. It’s my happy place. When I first arrived, though, I wasn’t feeling so great. I had a severe skin condition and two badly infected ears. My ears hurt so much that I shook them constantly — sometimes so hard I’d get dizzy and lightheaded. One treatment later and my ears are clear! The relief was incredible. No one should have to live with ear pain and no help.As for my skin — it wasn’t mange and it wasn’t ringworm. It was a terrible yeast infection covering much of my body. I’m currently in treatment and doing really well. My fur should be growing back in beautifully before long.Right now, I may not look like much… but trust me.I have crystal blue eyes, and when you meet me, you’ll understand. There’s something special there. I have a calm, gentle presence and a heart ready to belong to someone. Here’s my health update:• Heartworm negative• Up to date on vaccines• Spay coming soonWhile I’m healing and waiting, I wanted you to know I’m here — and I’m in the market for a loving home and family. If you’re looking for a sweet, sunshine-loving girl with striking blue eyes and a heart full of gratitude, come meet Dee-NICE.I think you’ll know I’m the one. ????
