Story
Jules came to us under unfortunate circumstances from her original owners in which they were unable to keep her. She was a rescue that they adopted from a farm, and they do not know her history there. What we have observed, she is skittish particularly with men. Shes great with kids and other dogs, and while she will nose boop and "troll" the cats she is fine with them. She cannot be trusted with chickens, ducks, rabbits etc. She is *mostly* potty trained, but requires frequent monitoring and trips outside to avoid accidents. Jules walks good on a leash and has decent recall when leashed. She is a wanderer, a fully fenced yard is ideal, she doeseem to be a fence jumper. Shes very sweet, and is a typical husky talker. She likes to cuddle on the bed and spend time near the people. She enjoys trips to the lake and will dip into the water at her own discretion. She enjoys a kiddie pool in the summer. Ideally she could find a female owner who can be active with her.

Story
Meet Clyde! Clyde is an adult male Husky with a low to moderate energy level and a very sensitive soul. He comes to us as a transfer from another shelter, where he was originally brought in as a stray. Like many dogs who have had an uncertain start, Clyde is fearful and needs slow, gentle introductions to new people and other dogs. He is looking for a calm, patient home that understands he may take time to feel safe. Once he begins to trust, you can see the sweet, thoughtful dog underneath. Clyde benefits from steady routines, quiet environments, and adopters who are willing to let him move at his own pace. With time, kindness, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to truly blossom. Clyde would do best with adopters who are committed to helping him build confidence and continue his social training. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most rewarding journeys you can take. Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today! Call 530-895-8888. We don't offer holds; pets can be adopted anytime. Schedule an appt or simply Apply to Adopt Applied in the last 6 months? Just call!

Story
This pet is in our Los Molinos Sanctuary. Please call to schedule an appointment. Meet Elsie, the stunning Husky mix who is ready to turn your daily life into an epic adventure! If you’re looking for a companion who combines athletic grace with a social butterfly personality, Elsie is your girl. 🐾 The Ultimate Socialite Elsie is a rare gem in the canine world. She is exceptionally well-adjusted and gets along with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Whether she’s playing with a rambunctious puppy or calmly coexisting with a senior dog, she reads the room perfectly. 🌲 Adventure is Calling True to her heritage, Elsie was born to move. She is the dream companion for hikers, runners, or weekend campers. Leash Manners: Unlike many of her Husky cousins, Elsie is a dream on a leash. No sled-dog pulling here—just a focused, rhythmic stride by your side. People Person: She has never met a stranger! Elsie greets new people with warmth and charm, making her the perfect "patio dog" for your post-hike brews. 🏠 The Ideal Match Elsie isn’t just looking for a backyard; she’s looking for a lifestyle. To be the best version of herself, she needs a home that understands the "Husky brain." Her ideal humans will provide: Physical Outlets: Daily long walks, runs, or vigorous play sessions. Mental Stimulation: Puzzle toys, training games, or "jobs" to keep her sharp mind occupied. Involvement: She wants to be where the action is! Note from her Foster: "Elsie is the perfect balance of 'let’s go!' and 'let's snuggle.' As long as she’s had her exercise, she is a calm, loving presence in the home."l!
