Story
Meet Manioc, a super sweet husky mix pup. This girl is a giant mass of love. Manioc is going to be a bigger girl, weighing in at almost 40 pounds at only 6 months old. Manioc is already leash trained and getting better and better at commands like sit and lie down. If you are looking for an intelligent, larger breed puppy, look no farther and apply to meet Manioc today!   Apply to adopt by clicking on the link below http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.  Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.  If you have already filled out an online adoption application with our organization in the last 6 months you do not need to fill out another application. Please call or email us to schedule an appointment.  530-895-8888 If you are interested in meeting this pet please apply to adopt at http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html if the pet is still available for adoption and you are approved to adopt we will contact you to set up a meet and greet appointment.    February 22, 2024, 12:41 am

Story
Apply to adopt by clicking on the link below  http://www.wagsandwhiskerspetrescue.com/adopt.html This girl is a beautiful husky/shepherd mix with a smooth shepherd coat.  She is mostly quiet and a little shy at first.  She warms quickly to affection.  She wants company, from humans and from other dogs, and is happiest when she's near her companions.  She's very athletic and walks well on a leash when her energy is worn off a bit.  She's lived outside in a kennel with her foster, but is very keen to be in the house, and much prefers relieving herself outside than in her kennel.  Her foster mom can answer questions and tell you more about this sweet girl.   Thank you so much for looking into wags and whiskers for your next family member. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.  Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Story
Juneau is a 4 year old husky shepherd mix, all white, a bit tan, and blue eyes. In need of a loving home. Juneau is a very very hyper and active dog, and needs an experienced adopter. Lacks training, but will obey sit and stay, as well as other commands. Plays very well with small dogs, but he can get aggressive with much bigger dogs (I’ve noticed it could be an alpha trait that can be corrected). He is very sweet, and very loving, will cuddle up in bed with you, and loves his belly rubs. He is a great dog indoors, usually sleeps after a trip to the dog park. He knows not to potty in the house, he is not aggressive (meaning he doesn’t wreck anything in the house) and is very good left alone at home. He is very loyal, the cuddliest most friendly dog to a human. In need of an active home, or a home with a large backyard as he loves to run and play fetch. I moved to an apartment, and he’s become more vocal, he needs a bigger home, with lots of love and attention.

Story
LuLu is a great girl, her energy is just a bit much for our family personally. I've had her since she was 10 weeks, she is a sweet girl & a ball of energy. Life has become busier with my youngest son's therapy classes and I don't feel she is getting the time and attention she deserves. She needs someone with more time & attention to devote to her. Being a full time Caregiver for my youngest son with special needs & a single parent of two boys it has become clear she's more than I can handle on my own.

Story
Ayla came to me one night as she was wandering the neighborhood, many of my neighbors said that they saw her be dropped off by the train tracks near my home and she was trying to get into several homes and made her way to me. I initially tried a month to find her family but had no luck then I tried to find her a new home as I did not have big dogs at the time but no luck. So I kept her. She was very young and was already potty trained. She is about 6 years old. I did get her the initial shots and she is fixed but I have not kept up with her shots. She is a very sweet girl and used to get along with my other dogs until recently she became very territorial with my female dogs but she gets along perfectly well with my male dogs. She’s great with kids loves to cuddle and she has adjusted to live outdoors as well as indoors. I love her so much but I can’t risk her hurting my female German shepherd & small female dogs I just want her to go to a loving home where she can be happy and loved.

Story
MEET TURKEY - Turkey is the cutest little dude. He’s so loving. He arrived as a surrender, very thin and a lack of confidence. He has gained confidence and eats like a tiny trucker. He loves children, he loves other dogs, mostly ones that are around his size range, but he adjusts his sales when he needs to.. he’s super smart and he aim to please. Turkey is playful and fun! Turkey would love a family for Christmas and the new year. He is only four months old we have had him neutered. He does have his vaccines and he is happy. Go lucky. However, if he senses danger he will bark, and he does a little husky howl if he feels stranger danger is going on around him. We tell him good boy you have done your job, and he typically settles down. we do live in the woods and there is some stranger danger up here so it is good that he is alert and aware of his surroundings. He is crate trained he sleeps inside at night he plays outside a portion of the day plays with children and other dogs. He tolerates the ducks, giving him all kinds of grief and chickens parading in front of him. Turkey is now Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you believe Turkey is your love match, please email us with a little information about yourselves and how Turkey would spend his days with you, to gooddogk9rescue@yahoo.com Thank you - Good Dog K9 Rescue Inc.

Story
🐶 🐕 SKITTLES Female 2 1/2 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE Husky / BC mix – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 SKITTLES was a great mom to her 10, yes 10, awesome Sweets and Treats puppies, and now she is ready for her forever home. Once her babies were adopted SKIT really began to shine. She has come a long way from the pancaking, pregnant, and shy gal to the protective, correcting mom, to a friendly, outgoing gal we foster parents love. She gets along well with people and other dogs. She’s been fine around the cats, but with her husky bloodlines we’d still caution against a home with cats. SKITTLES is about 2 1/2years of age, 52 lbs., with a thick medium coat. SKITTLES is crate and house trained. She has not pottied in the house since her “mom” days. She is now very comfortable in her crate (home and travel) during down and overnight sleep time. She knows “crate” and willingly goes in on her own as she knows it’s either meal or treat time. She knows sit, does ok with down, and has excellent recall even when distracted by people or dogs at the park next door. We are working on “off” as she likes jumping up (gently) on people, and does her share of licking the counters clean (we ensure no food is left for her to get) but responds well to direction. SKITTLES, after proper introductions, does well with people and other dogs. Once she trusts, she trusts completely. Treats and patience are the way to SKITTLES’s heart. She sits politely for pets, but she is not overbearing. When you stop she’ll find a dog bed or a spot on the floor and patiently wait for the next round...and the next…and the next. SKITTLES is happy inside or outside, wherever she has companionship. Sun, rain, snow…nothing deters her. She is happiest when her people accompany her outside (she’ll chase a ball or play keep away with a stick) and is almost as happy playing with her foster siblings. She especially enjoys Perkins, who plays to her energy level. She’d prefer a “Perkins-like” four legged companion to help her burn off energy, but would be fine as an only dog if you include yourself in all her activities, and she in yours. The more SKITTLES is included in your activities the quicker the bonding will occur. SKITTLES is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about SKITTLES, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. SKITTLES is fostering north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.
