Story
Wendy’s next chapter starts now — but she needs a foster or adopter by her side.   Wendy has come such a long way since we rescued her from a Houston shelter. She has settled in beautifully here in Colorado, found her footing, and has shown everyone just how incredibly sweet she is.   She’s now undergone her spay, dental surgery, and the beginning round of her heartworm treatment. We’re so grateful she’s made it through those procedures and is getting the care she deserves.   But Wendy’s medical journey isn’t over just yet.   On September 1st, Wendy is scheduled for an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) to address the painful problems in her hips. After everything this girl has already endured, we want her recovery to be as comfortable and supported as possible.   And that’s where YOU come in.   Wendy needs a foster or adopter who can help her through her FHO recovery — someone who can give her a quiet, comfortable place to heal, follow her vet’s recovery instructions, and most importantly, remind her every day that she is loved.   And if you’re wondering what Wendy is like beyond all of the medical stuff… she is an absolute sweetheart.   She loves everyone, gives kids kisses, does well with other dogs, and would also be perfectly happy being the only queen of the castle. And food? Oh, Wendy LOVES food.   Our vet believes Wendy is actually no older than 6. Her body has simply been through so much that she appeared much older. She has already survived being hit by a car, carrying old BB pellets in her body, painful hip issues, heartworm disease, and the uncertainty of shelter life.   Now she just needs someone willing to help her get through this last big hurdle.   If you can open your home and your heart to this incredibly deserving girl, please apply at www.denkaisanctuary.org.   And if you’d like to help with Wendy’s ongoing medical expenses, donations can be made to:   Venmo: @Denkai-AnimalSanctuary PayPal: info@denkaisanctuary.org   Please note Wendy with your donation.   Questions about fostering or adopting Wendy? adoptioncenter@denkaisanctuary.org   She has already made it through so much. Let’s make sure Wendy doesn’t have to face her next step alone. ##2729499##

Story
Meet Bindi: The Dog Who Missed the Memo 🐾🐱 At first glance, Bindi may look like a dog... but after about 30 seconds, you'll realize she's actually a cat who somehow ended up in a dog's body. Bindi is an independent queen with impeccable taste and absolutely no interest in pretending otherwise. Here's what you should know about our one-of-a-kind girl: Bindi enjoys attention and she does in fact love affection...on her terms. She may gracefully weave between your legs or rub against you as if she's blessing you with her presence. This does not automatically mean she wants a smothering hug. Unauthorized cuddling may result in a look that says, "Excuse me?" Please do not get us wrong, she LOVES attention and affection, she just has a limit. We did say she was more like a cat...right? She loves toys... just not with you. Toss her a toy? Thanks, she'll take it from here. Bindi prefers solo entertainment and doesn't see the need for a human co-star in her play sessions. She just loves knowing you're close by to watch. Think of yourself as an audience member, not a teammate. She has her toy, she has a plan, and she's got it covered. Bindi isn't your typical dog, and that's exactly what makes her so wonderful. She's quirky, independent, hilarious, endlessly entertaining, and completely herself. If you earn her trust (which doesn't take much), you'll discover that beneath the cat software running on dog hardware is an incredibly special companion with a personality unlike any other. Thank you for respecting Bindi's boundaries, appreciating her uniqueness, and accepting that she will always be the one in charge. We don't make the rules. Bindi does.
