Story
Dog Name: Ralphie Breed: Husky Sex: Male Age: 12ish Weight: 54 pounds Medical Needs: Some vision loss, some hearing loss, some stinky breath, some old man joints. His breathing sounds a little rough due to laryngeal paralysis. Currently takes a fish oil supplement and some oral care foam. Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes, you'll have to leash him and guide him in though. He likes to put on the brakes at first. Once he's in, he sleeps all night. Good in the car: Yes, lays down. Good on a leash: Yes, great on a leash! Walks next to you, barely ever pulls. Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: Not if you keep him leashed. You don’t want him wandering off with his vision and hearing impairment. Dog Friendly: Yes, pretty calm during intros! Given his age he’d do best with other low-key dogs. His playful days are behind him. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly: We haven’t seen him in a household with cats but he was indifferent to outside cats. We can do a more thorough cat test if needed. Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? I’d say older kids/teenagers. Grandpa likes his sleep and doesn't want to be pulled around. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them: Raphie was brought in as a stray, so not much background. Shelter staff said he seems deaf and half blind. I think he can hear but just doesn't care to listen. #husky #independent He will perform for the right treats, preferably something soft. He knows sit, paw and down. He’ll do them just by using hand signals. He talks back when he doesn’t want to do something. Definitely still has some husky attitude despite his ripe old age. He'd be a great dog for someone who likes the husky look without the husky energy. He sleeps a LOT. He picked a favorite spot on day 1 and that’s where you’ll find him 95% of the time. He'll bark if he can't get to his spot. Fosters Location: Delmar, MD Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application If you already have an approved application on file, email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your application. ##2463037##

Story
Sadie Sink – Our Fearless Star ⭐ 3 years old · Husky · Approx. 65 lbs · Unaltered Female (Not spayed yet) · “There’s more to life than the shelter… like finding the perfect home.” Meet Sadie Sink, named after the brave and adventurous actress who plays Max in Stranger Things. Just like her namesake, Sadie is spirited, curious, and full of heart. She is smart, playful, and ready to explore the world with a family who will let her shine. Sadie has moderate to high energy and loves adventure. She enjoys exploring new spaces, sniffing out everything around her, and learning new commands because she’s clever and eager to engage. Training with her is more like a fun game than a chore. She warms up quickly to new people, enjoys affection, and has a gentle, loving side that emerges once she feels safe. After playtime or walks, she is happy to relax nearby and soak up all the attention she deserves. As a stray, we do not know her full history with other dogs or cats. If you have a dog at home, a meet and greet is required to ensure a good match. Whether she is jumping up for hugs, trotting beside you on walks, or quietly observing the world with her curious gaze, Sadie is ready to bring bravery, spirit, and cleverness into her forever home. Sadie’s Highlights: ✔️ 3-year-old Husky mix, approximately 65 lbs ✔️ Moderate to high energy, playful and adventurous ✔️ Smart, treat motivated, quick learner ✔️ Walks well on leash and loves attention ✔️ Warms up quickly to new people ✨Meet and greet required if you have other dogs 📍 Come meet Sadie Sink at Caroline County Humane Society 🖤 407 W. Story
I am a sweet and outgoing girl, ready for walks or playtime in the park. My former owners can no longer care for me, but I am optimistic that another family will welcome me! I have lived with other dogs and enjoy their company. I should not be in a home with cats - the thrill of the chase is too great. NOTE: I AM IN HOUSTON TEXAS AND TRANSPORT TO YOUR AREA WILL BE ARRANGED.

Story
Written by Loki’s (formally Rambo) Foster Mom: 💙 Meet Loki – A Husky’s Beauty with a Lab’s Heart 💙 Have you dreamed of having a Husky but with lab characteristics? Well we may have the one for you…… Meet Loki a five year old stunning husky with soulful eyes and a gentle, loyal spirit. But while he has the striking looks of a husky, his personality leans more towards a laid back lab. He’s affectionate & friendly, however he spends most of his time always ready for snuggles on the couch. Loki is wonderful with other dogs and great with kids – he thrives in a family setting where he can be part of the action. He’s social, people-oriented, and loves being involved in your daily life.Loki is happiest by your side. While Loki doesn’t have a prey drive at this time we still feel Loki would do best in a cat-free home. Loki came to us as a survivor of the urgent/euthanasia list with just hours to spare, however he is more than just a rescue – he’s a loyal friend,a heart-healer and a amazing boy who just deserves a family to be his forever. 🐾 It’s time to open your heart and home — Loki’s forever can start with you! 🐾

Story
[Pets For Vets - Adoption Eligible 🇺🇸] Meet Cyprus! 🐾 Male • Husky Mix • Active & Affectionate Survivor of the PG county animal services Urgent / euthanasia list. Cyprus is a strikingly handsome & strong willed Husky mix with a heart full of love and a spirit ready to thrive. After living most of his life outside, this sweet boy is quickly learning the joys of being an “inside dog.” He’s still figuring out the comforts of home life—like soft beds, treats, and regular meals—but he’s adjusting beautifully. He eats his food with urgency, a little reminder of his past, but he’s starting to trust that meals will always be there. Cyprus is incredibly people-oriented and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. He’s very active and will do best with an active couple or individual who can match his energy and give him the structure he needs. A fenced-in yard is strongly preferred, but he’ll also do great with frequent leash walks, runs, and mental stimulation. Due to his high prey drive, Cyprus should not be placed in a home with cats, small dogs, or small animals. Older children who can follow direction / listen to their parents about rules with the dog will be okay to have as human siblings, where he can continue to learn, bond, and be part of the pack. He is dog friendly as long as the other pup is not overly dominant. Experience with owning large , strong willed dogs / huskies or similiar personality breeds is 100% required for him. He is not a dog for first time or inexperienced dog owners. He does need some continued training to learn leash manners (but we can’t blame him since it’s evidently clear he wasn’t outside dog based off of his demeanor, overall condition, and the fly strikes on his ears) Cyprus is ready to leave his past behind and become someone’s loyal adventure buddy or newest member of the family. Could that be you? Are you interested in Adopting Cyprus? SEND US A MESSAGE! Currently located in Eastern Shore, MD Eligible to be adopted in MD, Northern VA, DE, South East / South Central PA / NJ.
