.Brown Sugar, Blue Lemonade, and Grey Sky are adorable `little` husky mixes. Their mom is a husky mix. Their dad is an irresponsible wanderer. After trying to find homes for them with no luck, the owners brought them to us for help. They are now 11 months old, very sweet and learning to walk on a leash. They could use a little more socialization, but are doing well. All are playful and energetic, of course. They are reported to be great with other dogs and love children. Are you looking to add some fun, loving excitement to your family? Do you have lots of time for training and loving? Come and meet Brown Sugar, Blue Lemonade and Grey Sky 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday. They are spayed, microchipped and are current on age appropriate core vaccines. Brown Sugar and Blue Lemonade arrived heartworm positive. However, they will be treated by our awesome medical staff here. In the meantime, they can both go home as fosters to adopt. What a great way for you to get to know each other! Our front desk staff will be delighted to tell you all about this adopter friendly program.

Gailen is a purebred Siberian Husky. He was brought to us, along with a purebred female German Shepherd and 4 puppies (their babies). They were all surrendered due to an extreme and unfortunate change in their living situation. If you are familiar with the husky breed, you are familiar with their tendency to escape. Here is an excerpt from Husky Owner : `Huskies are known for their escape artist tendencies due to their strong desire to run and explore. Originally bred as sled dogs, they have a natural instinct to roam and cover vast distances. This breed`s history and genetic makeup make them prone to escaping, especially if they are bored, restless, or seeking new experiences. To prevent a Husky from escaping, it is essential to provide them with sufficient exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction`. Gailen obviously will need a very special home. His adopter needs to be familiar not only with working breeds, but huskies in particular. We expect he is good with other dogs, as he came in with others, but always suggest a meet and greet. If you have a spot in your heart and home for Gailen, email reception@hsscg.org for more information and/or an application to adopt. Gailen is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested heartworm negative. Although we don`t get a lot of snow here, Gailen would be perfectly happy to share your air conditioning.
