Meet Jake! At around 4 years old, Jake is the total package—a calm, loving, well-mannered boy who’s ready to find the forever family he’s been waiting for. Jake has a gentle soul and an affectionate personality that wins people over instantly. He loves being close to his people, leans in for pets, and will happily soak up all the chin scratches you can give. One of his sweetest quirks is greeting you with soft little howls, as if he’s saying, “I’m so happy to see you!” He’s house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has a relaxed, easygoing temperament that makes him a wonderful companion. Jake gets along well with other dogs, loves kids of all ages, and is okay with cats, although slow introductions and a little supervision are recommended while everyone gets to know each other. The only time you’ll see his calm demeanor disappear is at mealtime—then his excitement shines through, and it’s impossible not to smile watching him eagerly anticipate dinner! Jake is looking for a family that will love him as much as he’ll love them. Whether it’s going for a walk, relaxing on the couch, or greeting you at the door with his adorable little “woo-woos,” Jake is ready to be your loyal best friend. I have said it before, and I’ll say it again… Huskies do not belong on chains. Imagine being born with a free spirit, only to spend your life tethered and confined. Eventually, that spirit doesn’t just get restrained—it gets broken. This sweet mama knows that heartbreak all too well. She originally had six puppies. Her so-called owner was selling them for just $15 each on Facebook. When they didn’t sell, four innocent babies were dumped by the river in a different county. 💔 Thankfully, before anything happened to them, this beautiful girl and her two remaining puppies were discovered and brought to safety. We are incredibly grateful to our rescue partners at Humane Society of Forsyth County for stepping up and taking the two babies, as we currently do not have puppy fosters available. As for mama, she’s coming to ReLeashed Rescue. Right now, her eyes tell the story of a dog whose spirit has been dimmed, but we are determined to help her find herself again. We want to show her that humans can be kind, that she is worthy of love, and that life can be more than the end of a chain. Our goal is simple: to give her the best chance possible to rediscover the joyful, free-spirited husky she was always meant to be. ❤️🐾 Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts as she begins her journey to healing. And as always, share her story—because no dog deserves to live a life at the end of a chain.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
