Story
My name is Sage and I'm a 10 year old Husky/ Malamute mix. I've been with my same owner since I was 8 weeks old, but she's moving to a different country and can't take me with her. I live with two cats that I'm kind of scared of. I WANT to cuddle and kiss them but they swat at me so I mostly mind my own business. I'm older now, so I lay around a lot, but I LOVE going on walks and hanging out outside whenever I can. I love playing with other dogs but sometimes I get a little territorial. I don't bark at anyone or anything when I'm inside the house (mailmen, other walkers, people ringing the doorbell, ambulances, etc.), but sometimes on walks if I see another dog or some kids I bark from excitement. I just want to say hi and play! Kids really like me; they always want to pet me, but I'd rather sniff the closest street sign. Overall, I'm a pretty happy, agreeable lady and just want to explore!

Story
Neutered VaccinatedMicrochipped  HW Negative and on prevention  Adoption Fee: $350  This striking German Shepherd/Husky mix is as handsome as they come, with a confident presence and a playful, social personality to match. He came into rescue after an unfortunate situation in his previous home where he and another dog got loose due to an invisible fence failure and were involved in an incident with a passing dog. We believe in full transparency, but also in being fair to the dog and this situation was the result of a containment issue, not a dog with a history of instability or ongoing aggression. Since arriving in rescue, he has been out with multiple dogs and has done beautifully. He is social, playful, and enjoys appropriate interaction with other dogs. He reads canine body language well and has been a great participant in group play with supervision. He is an active, intelligent dog who will do best in a home that can provide structure, consistency, and proper physical containment. Invisible fences will not be considered for him. Like many shepherd and husky mixes, he thrives when he has both mental and physical outlets and a handler who understands leadership and follow-through. He is not a dog that needs to be isolated—he’s a dog that needs to be managed correctly. In the right home, with clear boundaries and responsible ownership, he is going to be an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, engaging, and social dog who just needs the right setup to succeed, he may be your perfect match. Approved applications required to adopt!  *If you choose to adopt (before all vetting is complete) and use your own vet rather than our local Snip Clinic for these services, you do so at your own expense and it will not reduce the adoption fee. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE.1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen. Please DO NOT CALL the rescue unless you have been specifically given the phone number by one of the staff.2.) You will be notified by the adoption coordinator if your application is approved. This will happen very quickly, usually the same or next day. (unless you apply on a weekend and vet records can not be verified in which case it will be the next day the vet is open.) If you do not hear from us, you were not approved. There will be no explanation or argument.  3.) Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation. DO NOT show up expecting to “see the dogs”. We are not a municipal shelter- we are a non-profit, volunteer based rescue.4.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up.5.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply - we are too busy for window shoppers! Every dog is available to be taken home with you at the time of the meet and greet.6.) We recommend you bring a carrier with you to transport the dog home as some can get carsick. Adult dogs and most puppies over 6 months of age will require a slip lead- not a harness, Not a flat collar and leash but a SLIP LEAD that does not need to be fitted and is the only approved method of safe restraint for fearful and flight risk dogs.7.) Adoption fees can be paid with Cash, Check, Venmo, PayPal and credit Card. You pay these the day you adopt when you sign your contract through an online system.Screven County Spay & Neuter Corp.SYLVANIA, GA ##2646368##
