Story
Mika is a sweet, friendly, and affectionate husky who loves being close to her people. She enjoys attention, cuddling on the couch or bed, and staying near her family. Mika is playful and energetic, loves toys (especially chew bones), and is always up for fun and activity. Mika does very well with kids of all ages and loves adults. She can live with some dogs, doing best with small dogs, and would thrive in a home where she’s not left alone for long periods. Mika would be happiest in a home that can give her regular exercise, companionship, and attention. She’s a gentle, loving dog who truly wants to be part of the family. She is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and knows sit, lay down, shake, and stay. Best Fit: Family-oriented home • Great with kids • Small-dog friendly • Active lifestyle • Someone home often *Unknown with cats

Story
Oso’s former owner describes him as a “fun, energetic guy likes to play. He’s very aware and attentive of his home and will alert when someone arrives. He’s very friendly with visitors - he only wants attention from them. He prefers being outside but likes being inside as well.” Like most huskies, he needs a secure fence, stimulation from toys, exercise (or another fun dog to play with! He likes playing with other big dogs!), and is not suitable for apartment or condo living. He has always lived with cats and small kids and does great with them, too!

Children Under 10: Yes Children Over 10: Yes Friendly With Dogs: Yes Friendly With Cats: No Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Mostly Leash Trained: Working on it Adoption Fee: $130 Additional Notes: Balto arrived at SSH on 10/23/2025. He was very sickly. His owner passed away and the surviving family put him out on the streets to fend for himself. He never left the general area of his home until it was time to be rescued. Fast forward a few weeks and here we are. Balto is putting on weight, been groomed, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. He's great with kids and will selflessly play dress-up. He's also great with other dogs, both big and small. We're looking for a home for Balto that has a large backyard or space where he can run and play with another dog in the home. A child who would love on him would be a bonus! Balto is currently working on some car ride anxiety and has a training plan in place for prospective applicants but otherwise he's a 10/10 perfect boy! Story
This is Shinju… it means Pearl in Japanese. Shinju is about 2 yrs old, she weighs approximately 60 pounds and is a husky-pit mix… at least that’s what everyone thinks. Shinju has a medical condition that is managed well with medication and like many of us, she does have a little bit of baggage from her past. Shinju is a very sweet and loyal dog who does well with people and other dogs, although she can be cautious and nervous at first. She is up-to-date on her shots and vet appointments. She is crate trained; in fact, she loves her crate and it is her preferred place to sleep when it’s bed time. She loves attention, treats and belly rubs. She has attended a 6-week puppy training class and knows her name and these commands: sit, no, car ride, walk, high 5, go potty, and shake. She likes long walks around the block, trail hikes, jumping and running around in water, and she really loves playing in and eating snow.
