Jade was found assumably dumped way out in the country with another dog. She was a bag of bones and was even spotted on the interstate trying to have a meal on a deceased deer. This poor girl was so desperate for food and love that she was taking whatever she could get whether it was in a field or from kind neighbors. She is such a loving companion that is is heartbreaking to think someone tossed her out without another care about her. Since she has been with us, she has put on a tremendous amount of weight and received all the love she can ask for! She is fantastic with all the other dogs and is definitely more on the submissive side with them! She doesn't know a stranger and will softly curl up into your lap and stare into your eyes thinking you're the greatest thing in the world! She appears to have ben previously abused so she is quite scared of a leash or rapid arm movements. She is also very kennel trained so she was more than likely a house dog at one point. She has apparently had such a rough life and we're praying someone will give her a chance to experience a real, loving home where she will never wonder where her next meal is or what it's like to be abused! Her adoption fee is $275 and this will include her DAPPV booster, deworming, current flea and tick, spay, 1 year Rabies vaccine, heartworm test and a microchip. Please visit: murraycallowayanimalshelter.weebly.com to fill out an application. Then email your application to animalshelter@callowaycountyky.gov Adoption Fee: $60.00 Cash or Check (this includes the microchip! It also covers vaccines, fecal, and any medical attention the animal required while in our care.) An $80.00 good-faith deposit will be collected at the time of adoption. (If paying this fee by check, the check will be cashed.) This added spay/neuter step will assist in stopping the tide of animals that end up in shelters. Once the spay/neuter has been completed, take or mail proof of surgery to the Humane Society of Calloway County, 607 Poplar St. (in the Weaks Center), Murray, KY 42071. Your $80.00 deposit will be reimbursed, typically within one week.

Pluto is a good boy and loves to go on adventures. His favorite thing in the whole world is water. He loves to swim, play in water, baths & laying in kitty pools. Pluto knows how to fetch. He also knows a few commands too. He loves children & all people. We are unsure how he does with cats. He gets along well with female dogs and his picky with which male dogs; he has been around males some he liked some he didn’t. Pluto is heartworm negative & on monthly prevention. He is great on the leash & keeps a clean kennel majority of the time.
