Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This adorable little fella is Casper!  Casper came to us in pretty rough shape and very emaciated but his spirit has never dampened and all he needed was some food and TLC to flourish.  Casper is a husky mix of some sort and is about 35 pounds of wiggles and squirms.  He is very sweet and playful.  He will need a family that can work on training and help him learn how living in a home all works.  Casper is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $275.00  More photos coming as soon as we can get him to stop wiggling! May 7, 2024, 4:58 pm

Story
Hi there, my name is Binx! I came to Almost Home because a member of my family was dealing with health issues and could no longer take care of me. I am very friendly and affectionate! I can be dog selective because I think I'm a Queen, but I do like to play once I'm friends with other dogs. My friends at the shelter say I might need to be without cats but you never know maybe me and your cat could be friends as well. My previous owners have referred to me as an "escape artist," so my new home will need to have a safe and secure yard for me to enjoy. I can be mouthy and give kisses once I am warmed up to you. I like to play by using my mouth my human friends call it being mouthy I call it tasting everything...hehe I'm not biting I can just be a little nippy sometimes. I went out to Marshalltown to see if I could find my forever home out there but I didnt fit in well out there and came back to Almost Home. They didnt have outside runs due to it being winter and that just made me feel trapped. I am not a fan of getting a bath... but I do love rubbing my wet body all over you once I'm done! I'm up to date on all of my vaccinations and I tested negative for heartworm. I am microchipped and spayed. Do you have room in your home for me?

Story
Hi, my name is Shine! I'm about 7-1/2 years old and I originally came to Almost Home as a stray in August 2022. I was adopted for a while but I was returned in July 2023. I went to the doctor to look at the cataracts in my eyes, and they said that as I get older, I will most likely go completely blind - I guess it happens a lot in dogs who look like me. Don't worry though, I will still be able to live a long and happy life with my new family! I'm not a huge fan of the smaller humans, and I will do best as an only pet in my forever home. I'm up to date on my shots, spayed and microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. I'm sitting here waiting for my forever home to come along... do you think yours could be it?

Story
Hi my name is Tigger! I got that name because I sure can jump. I came to Almost Home after I was found running as a stray and ended up at the pound and no one came for me. I am good with other dogs, but haven't been around cats or kids. I am a very high energy boy and would do best in an active home.
