I’ve had Ellie since she was a puppy, and she’s been such a fun, loving part of my life. She just turned 2 (born September 23), and she’s grown into a smart, playful, and affectionate dog with a big personality. As much as I love her, my life has changed a lot. I have a young son and a lot of responsibilities, and I’ve realized I’m not able to give her the time, structure, and attention she truly deserves. She has so much energy, love, and potential, and I want her to be in a home where she can get everything she needs and more. This decision hasn’t been easy at all, but it comes from wanting the best life for her—not just what I can manage right now. She deserves a home where she can run, play, be her sassy, happy self, and get all the love and attention she thrives on.

Just like his namesake, this sweet Husky is a blur of white-and-grey joy, and he’s looking for a family to join him on his next great adventure. Bolt has the classic Husky energy! Whether he’s doing laps in the yard or "drifting" around the living room, he’s a high-performance athlete. If you’re a runner or a hiker, Bolt is ready to be your dedicated "pacer." Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2715286##
