- Sweet, mellow girl, who loves toys and likes giving kisses- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip: "What a laid-back dog. She had no interest in snacks or chew toys, but she did like playing tug-of-war and fetching a tennis ball. And the belly rubs. I think we could have spent four hours doing nothing but my scratching her belly and she would have been happy. We went for a walk in my neighborhood and she did well. Slight pulling but no yanks or lunges. She met my girlfriend and my neighbor and charmed both of them."- Prefers to do her own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more in a home after she's had time to decompress - Has a history of being stressed by young, noisy or busy children, but has done OK with kids who are calm and polite (mature home recommended) - Has done well with like-minded dogs and may enjoy a dog friend in her new home - Needs a home with no cats - Has struggled with medical handling, specifically needles, and would benefit from a veterinarian who uses Fear Free techniques This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
