Can't understand why, but AXEL was an outside pet in his last "home" Seems completely house-trained here, We're told he was used as a doorbell. How sad! GREAT temperament, he seems to love everybodoy he meets. and for not having a lot of attention, he's been good as gold here and happy to see everyone. We're praying he could find a home with someone who has husky experience as he does have "Selective hearing" when you call him and will come... when he's done sniffing the smells. Such a big ole teddy bear!

Meet Oakley, Professional Snow Enthusiast Hi, I’m Oakley. I’m a 7-year-old, neutered male Husky with a very serious résumé that includes: • Olympic-level snow zoomies • Advanced kid-loving skills • Excellent dog-to-dog diplomacy If there’s snow on the ground, I’m thriving. If there’s no snow on the ground, I’m still thriving but dramatically waiting for winter to return. I get along great with other dogs and kids and consider both excellent members of my fan club. Cats, however… yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me. We can all agree to live separate lives and be happier for it. I’m old enough to have some wisdom, young enough to still sprint through the yard like I just heard the word “walk,” and handsome enough to stop traffic on snowy sidewalks. Now let’s address the fur in the room. I shed. A lot. Seasonally. Emotionally. Spiritually. If you’re worried about dog hair, I recommend you simply brush it off. Literally. Grab a brush. We’ll bond. You’ll vacuum. It’ll be fine. If you’re looking for a loyal, fluffy sidekick who treats winter like a personal playground, I’m your guy. Bring snacks. And maybe a sled. If interested, please call the shelter at 231-861-5395 and leave a message to be placed on this dog's adoption list. No obligation, but it reserves your place in line on the list. The shelter will contact individuals as they appear on the list. The adoption fee is $95 and you receive certificates for $50 towards spay/neuter and $10 towards rabies vaccine if not already done. All dogs are heartworm tested, receive a DHLPP, flea and tick treatment, and are dewormed.
