Story
If you`re looking for a fun-loving best friend who`s always ready to make you smile, Enya is your girl! This beautiful 1-year-old Husky is full of happiness, energy, and love. She has never met a stranger and greets everyone she meets like they`re her new best friend. Her favorite way to say hello? Jumping up to shower you with all the kisses you could ever want!Enya is a social butterfly who absolutely loves other dogs. Whether she`s zooming around the yard, chasing her canine friends, or enjoying a good wrestling match, she`s happiest when she has a playmate to share the fun with.As a young Husky, Enya is looking for an active family that can keep up with her adventurous spirit. She`ll thrive in a home where she gets plenty of daily exercise, playtime, and quality time with her people. Because she loves to run and explore, Enya will require a securely fenced backyard where she can safely stretch her legs and burn off some energy.Enya is also blessed with a gorgeous thick double coat that makes her as beautiful as she is lovable. To keep her coat healthy and looking its best, she`ll need regular brushing and occasional grooming.Enya is not a good match for a home with cats, so she`ll need a feline-free household. If you`re ready to welcome a happy, affectionate, playful companion who will fill your days with laughter, adventures, and endless kisses, Enya is ready to meet you. She can`t wait to find the family she`ll love forever! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Meet Remi! 🐾 Remi is a 5-year-old sweetheart who's ready to trade shelter life for a cozy home of his own. This handsome guy has a gentle, easygoing personality and enjoys spending time with his people. He walks nicely on a leash and loves getting outside to explore. While he's playful, it's clear he hasn't had many chances to just be a dog—he doesn't really know what toys are yet! We can't wait for someone to introduce him to the joy of playtime. Remi did well during his dog evaluation. He was happy to be around another dog but wasn't interested in starting a game of chase or wrestling. He's more of a "you do your thing, I'll do mine" kind of guy. Because he can be protective of his food, he'll need to be fed separately from any canine siblings. Remi is not a good fit for a home with cats, but he could do well with a respectful dog companion and is great with children. His future family should also plan on regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key companion who's ready to learn what the good life is all about, Remi is waiting to meet you!
