Story
Meet Ghost. He’s being fostered in east TN. Out of state welcome for additional fee. We transport to the Greta lakes and northeast areas east areas. We use rescue riders for all our pet transport needs. Ghost had a home but unfortunately his owner could not longer care for him. He’s a really sweet pup. He loves attention and will come rest his head on your lap for petting and ear scratches. He gets along with most all other dogs big and small young or old. He is very playful and has lots of energy. He seems to be a husky mix. He has the curled husky tail and the coat of a medium coated husky but he also looks like he could be mixed with another breed. He’s not very big and only around 45 lbs. he’s a year old so he should not get much bigger. He probably will top out around 50-55 lbs. he is crate trained and house trained and walks well on a leash. He is a just a little shy when meeting new people and it doesn’t take long for him to warm up. He is one smart and sweet pup!

Story
Young Man A18708242 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -This sweet young boy is still figuring out the world and would love a patient person to help him build his confidence! Outside, he preferred to take things slowly and calmly explore from a comfortable distance, especially with the busy corner traffic nearby. Once inside and feeling a little more at ease, his playful personality started to shine through!-A little invitation to play was all it took to bring out some adorable spins and zoomies! He occasionally seemed surprised by his own excitement and needed a moment to regroup, but before long he was showing his silly side again—flipping onto his back, wiggling around on the blankets, and happily accepting belly rubs.-He can be sensitive to quick movements at first, but it was wonderful to watch his trust grow. As he became more comfortable, he relaxed more and more and showed just how much potential he has. He enjoys treats, knows “sit,” and takes them gently. He briefly checked out a toy and may discover a bigger love for play as his confidence continues to blossom.-He walks nicely without pulling and is a good young boy who would benefit from continued socialization, patience, and a loving home where he can come out of his shell at his own pace. There’s a playful, wiggly sweetheart in there just waiting to feel safe enough to shine! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30.**We ask that if you’re looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
