Story
I took the pet in for someone else going through hard times and the responsibility and time is very overwhelming. I work long hours and live alone so I am not able to attend to the pet but for short periods of time with him; I feel really bad a majority of his time spent with me has been in a crate. I am not really a dog person but I was unsure what they would treat him like in a shelter. He is not neutered. He is partially potty-trained, good with other dogs, just very hyper as he is a puppy.

Story
Meet Cherry! 🍒 Cherry came to us as a stray and sadly nobody came for her, so she is now searching for a new forever home! Cherry is a husky that is about 4 years old and weighs about 50 pounds! Cherry has quite the funny personality and loves to run around! Cherry is housebroken and is good with kids, doesn’t mind the cats and is good with the other dogs! We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along! Cherry is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped & spayed! If you are interested in making Cherry a part of your family please contact the shelter directly at 989-831-7302 to set up an appointment! *All adoptions are done by appointment only*

Story
Well look at that smile, too cute! Mia is estimated to be about 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. Mia has such an outgoing and playful personality, with a little bit of goofiness rolled in as well, so funny! She loves to lean in for love and snuggles after play time is over. Tennis balls make her very happy and she is hoping her new family would like to play ball with her. Mia does need some help with jumping up for attention, she will need an experienced adopter who knows how to establish themselves as a leader, set limits and work on basic obedience. She is a very smart girl and is looking for direction, she will just blossom with the right guidance. An active, fun family would be her dream and where any children are at least 8 years old. Mia has a lot of love to give and is looking for a forever home where she can grow up and make new memories. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Mia would love to meet them. She has an “all in” approach with other dogs and a bit pushy. She will need to learn some limits. If you are interested in Mia and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Rumi and her friend Asbel came to the shelter when their previous owner fell on hard times and was unable to keep them anymore. They are sweet but scared senior girls whose world has been turned a bit upside down. Their previous owner stated that they are housetrained, friendly with dogs and children, and have been tolerant of cats. If you are looking to give an older pet a chance, Rumi would love to meet you! Rumi and her Asbel have been together since Rumi was a puppy. We are not requiring them to go together but if you have room for two sweet seniors they would love to stay together. All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots before adoption.

Story
What a gorgeous soft coat Brownie has! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 45 pounds. There's something sweet and special about Brownie - and it's not just her name! Brownie is beautiful girl with a playful, affectionate, and shy personality. Despite her initial shyness, this well-mannered pup is eager to please and will win your heart over with her mellow and loving nature. She really perks up when you bring out the toys, so she is hoping for maybe a little basket of them in her new home. Brownie would really benefit from some confidence building and leadership, it would be wonderful if her new family could help her with this. She will need home where any children are at least 4 years old. Brownie is going to be such a great companion to anyone, she has so much love to give. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Brownie would love to meet them. She has an “all in” play style with other dogs and needs to learn some limits. She really comes out of her shell with other dogs, so another friendly dog in the home may be good for her. If you are interested in Brownie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
