Story
This is Dusse. She was found abandoned by her previous owner a few weeks ago and I’ve been temporarily caring for her for the time being. She is believed to be a Husky/Akita mix but I am not sure on the specifics. The Bad: She does not seem to be very good with other dogs as she gets overly excited and playful which could potentially make other dogs defensive. Out of 10 people she may pass on a walk, she’ll randomly want to jump on/play with about 3 of them. She has been shedding heavily even though she gets brushed regularly. I am unable to take her to a groomer until her vet records are updated. She currently has either allergies or a yeast infection that she is has an appointment to be seen for. She is a puller when it comes to walks. This may possibly be remedied with a harness though I am not yet sure. The Good: She is house trained. She is an active girl and loves to play with her toys. She seems to be food motivated.

Story
Bluey A18180554 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -Goofy boy!-He takes treats occasionally but didn’t eat the two kinds I offered. Still needs work with “sit”.-Playful and bouncy. He briefly threw around a couple toys.-He likes pets and will jump up on your lap and wrap his paws around your arm-He gives kisses-He walks nicely on leash and doesn’t aspire to be a sled dog! Refreshing! 😂-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
***Crouton is in a foster home, so he is not at the kennel. If you are interested in him, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you.*** Crouton is as cute as his name and just makes you smile! He is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 25 pounds right now, but he is sure to get bigger! Meet Crouton, such a sweet pup with the best ears! He went right into one of our wonderful foster homes where he is doing so well and feeling safe. His foster mom has so many wonderful things to say about him: Crouton is absolutely incredible. He is so smart and has already mastered the basic commands and some fun tricks, such as spin, twirl and "bam" laying on his side. He isn't much of a jumper and has already learned that to get pets he must not jump, so he sits at your feet. He has only had a few accidents and will "go potty" on command. Crouton isn't the best at walking on the leash, he pancakes down and doesn't want to move, but once the weather is a bit warmer, I'll take him out for more leash work (I'm positive he will catch on quick). Crouton is getting acclimated with his crate, with a treat he does "go to bed". Crouton sleeps all night in his crate, on the rare occasion he needs to go potty he will bark, we let him out, put him back in his crate and goes back to sleep. Crouton is not mouthy and has caught onto only chewing his toys. We have him training with a clicker. He is very treat motivated and wants to please. Crouton does well with dogs and cats, as well as my two boys and our 4&6 year old niece and nephew. We currently use a slow feeder because he eats so fast, it's really helped slow him down and enjoy his meals. Crouton can't wait to find a family that will love him forever and would really like it if you wanted to meet him. If you are interested in Crouton and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Meet Belly 9-month-old husky mix with those wow-how-are-your-eyes-that-blue eyes and a heart to match. Belly is sweet, smart, and always ready for her next adventure. She’s the kind of girl who learns fast, loves hard, and would thrive with an active family that’s down for walks, playtime, and a little husky-style zooming around the yard. A fenced-in yard is a must—this lady has places to go and fun to have. She does great with other dogs and would likely be a solid match for a home with older kids who can keep up with her playful energy. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend who will keep life exciting (and maybe steal your heart in about five seconds), Belly might just be your girl ##2648540##
