Story
Meet Kodiak ❄️🐾 Kodiak is a 5-year-old male Siberian Husky with a stunning black and white coat and striking ice-blue eyes. True to his breed, he’s highly intelligent, curious, and full of personality. He has been around children and does well with kids, making him a great potential family companion. Kodiak does well with other dogs and cats when given a proper introduction, and with consistent guidance and corrections, he can also do well around chickens. Kodiak is kennel trained and mostly potty trained, but he does best on a routine schedule—if his routine isn’t followed, he may have the occasional accident. He is a classic Husky escape artist, so if kenneled, he will need a secure, heavy-duty crate, as thin wire kennels won’t contain him. His intelligence means he learns quickly and needs both mental stimulation and clear boundaries. He already knows Sit, Shake, and Stay, and while he can be a chewer, providing appropriate chew toys will help set him up for success. Kodiak is a new arrival at the shelter and is currently awaiting his veterinary appointments. Once his vetting is scheduled and completed, he will be ready for his adoption to be finalized. Kodiak is an adventurous, smart Husky who will thrive in a home that understands the breed and can provide structure, enrichment, and supervision. With the right match, he’ll make a loyal and entertaining companion. 🐺💙
