Story
Hi, I’m Hayes! I’m a handsome Husky Mix with one brown eye and one blue, so yes… I’ve got the looks and the personality to match. I’m full of playful puppy energy and have a whole lot of love to give. I’m an affectionate, cuddly, outgoing guy with a happy personality and plenty to say. If you like a dog who will “chat” with you about his day, I’m your boy! I absolutely love the outdoors. Hiking? Yes please. Walks with the kids? The best. I even love playing with the resident dog in my foster home. I’m all about adventure and being part of the action. As for cats, I’m pretty indifferent... I just ignore them and go about my day. I get so excited about humans that sometimes I forget my manners and try to jump up to say hello. But I’m learning that I get way better pets and attention when I sit or stand calmly. I’m a smart guy and catching on quickly, especially when treats are involved. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate adventure buddy with striking eyes and a heart full of loyalty, I’m ready to be your sidekick for life. Love, Hayes

Story
Hey! I'm Fresca! I’m a young husky mix with energy to spare and a heart full of joy. If you're looking for a dog who’s always down to play, chase, and squeak all the toys—you just found her! I love other dogs and make fast friends, but fair warning: I play loud and I play hard. I can be vocal when I get excited, and I need a doggy playmate who can keep up with my zoomies and wild rope toy battles. My high energy and vocalness can easily spook cats, so I would thrive best in a feline-free home. I’m all about the fun—chasing, tugging, wrestling, and squeaking toys until they give up (or I do). But once I’ve burned off some steam, I’m also a great snuggle buddy. I just need someone who understands that a busy brain and active body make me the happiest girl in the world. So if your dog’s looking for a playmate and you’ve got a toy basket waiting to be destroyed (in a good way), let’s meet! Can’t wait to wiggle into your life, Fresca

Hi, I’m Mekai! I’m a goofy, fun-loving Husky with a big personality, a playful heart, and a pretty brilliant mind if I do say so myself. I’m at my happiest when I’ve got something to do or something new to learn, so I’m looking for a home that’s excited to keep my brain busy and help me show off how smart I am. She has all the classic puppy energy—playful, curious, and a bit mouthy—but she redirects beautifully and genuinely wants to learn. More than anything, she wants to be wherever you are. If you sit down, she’s right there beside you; if you lie down, she’s ready to curl up for a cozy mid&#226&#128&#145afternoon nap. We worked with Mallory's potty skills, and she made great progress. She used puppy pads as long as there were enough available, and she quickly learned that sitting by the patio door meant she’d be let outside to do her business. Like any young pup, she loves to chew, so having plenty of appropriate chew toys is a must. Mallory did wonderfully with our resident dog, taking cues surprisingly well for a puppy. She slept in her kennel at night and while we were at work, would only whine if she needed to go outside. She truly wants to do the right thing—she just needs someone patient and consistent to guide her.To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org March 7, 2026, 10:03 pm

I will echo what his last foster said about Crypt being very gentle while taking treats.  He does bark when I leave home and occasionally at passersby; I don't know if he barks the whole time I am gone or not, but when I am home he is mostly quiet and happy to hang out and nap or chew a bone.  His favorite toy is a pink stuffy ball that he likes to cuddle; he is constantly emptying out the toy box but is not super playful so far.  Crypt also doesn't seem toy-destructive- just likes to cuddle them or carry them around.  So far, Crypt is on the shy side of dog personalities, at least as it applies to other dogs.  He might moan a bit when competing with my dog for prime couch space, but always backs down and moves.  He was shy and uncertain at first, but now that he's had a chance to settle in is very cuddly and always wants to be where I am.  He is excited to meet new people at home and we are still testing him out in public spaces- he did okay at Natural Pet Center recently but was pretty antsy. While guesting at the rescue, he earned the reputation of being a bit of a door-darter, so we work on threshold manners and use the airlock method of going in and out of the house just to be safe.  Crypt is also agile and sneaky enough to grab snacks off the counter while you're not looking, so keep things put away.    He's got some dry skin that we're working on and he's on a grain free diet per vet instructions.  Crypt is not a voracious eater; I feed him at 7 and 5 and he doesn't always finish his food.  He might do okay with free feeding (although I won't be able to test this as my resident dog will inhale anything he finds).  He of course enjoys treats.  Being shepherd/husky he does shed but it's certainly not the worst I've seen, and Crypt loves to be brushed. Overall I think Crypt just wants someone to love, a soft place to sleep, and someone who'll teach him nifty tricks.  He's an easy dog and will fit in wonderfully anywhere he goes. 11/2/25 Foster Feedback: Crypt (we call him Kip or Kippy) has been in our home for exactly one month now. When he first arrived, Crypt was timid and unsure. He kept his distance and was very quiet during the first couple of weeks. But around week two, he began to blossom—his personality started to shine, and we quickly saw how intelligent he is. He’s got the smarts of a German Shepherd and has even learned how to nudge open doors and gates, though he never gets into anything he shouldn’t. Crypt is fully potty trained and takes food and treats with gentle care. It took him a little time to discover that peanut butter and cheese are delicious, and now he accepts treats with a sweet hesitation, almost as if asking, “Are you sure this is for me?” He’s grown more comfortable with affection and no longer backs away when I reach out to pet him. By the second week, he was soaking up scratches and began cuddling next to me on the couch and in bed. While he enjoys chewing on a fancy bone, Crypt hasn’t shown much interest in toys or balls yet. He’ll chase a ball when tossed but lets his foster sibling do the retrieving. If you’re someone who spends a lot of time in the car, Crypt might be your perfect copilot. He whimpers every time I leave the house and tries to sneak into the car with me. He absolutely loves scenic drives, especially with his snout out the window. Now that he’s settled in, Crypt has become quite vocal. He’s quiet when I’m gone, but when I’m home, he does bark—often to communicate or get attention. We’re working on his barking etiquette, helping him learn when it’s appropriate to bark and when it’s not. When he knows it’s not the time to bark, he switches to his signature husky noises instead! His playful side is starting to emerge, and he enjoys upright wrestling with his foster sister. He’s also a total Velcro dog—he follows me everywhere around the house, but he’s great at just relaxing nearby while I read or take phone calls. Crypt free roams the house when I’m away and simply naps. He hasn’t gotten into any mischief at all. Due to his vocal nature, I wouldn’t currently recommend Crypt for apartment living. While he’s quiet when left alone, his barking at home could be disruptive in close quarters. We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more about this sweet boy. If you qualify and are interested in participating in this program, please fill out an application online and type "SENIOR" after your name.   Sally O'Malley has still got the moves and the sass and a whole lotta love to give!   Foster Home Feedback  9/18/25 Foster Feedback: Sally has been with us for over a month now.  She loves to be where you are. She will happily sit in your lap all day. She seems to prefer space and is not interested in playing with other dogs. Sally should go to a home with well-socialized dogs that understand her signals and give her the space she needs. She is doing well with the resident cat. Sally will follow and sniff, so a cat that is comfortable around dogs would probably be ok. Sally is not a fan of thunderstorms and will stick to your side until they pass.  She enjoys time outside lying in the sun, rolling in the grass, and watching the squirrels. 7/10/25 Foster Feedback: Sally O’Malley (aka Sally) has been with us for two weeks now and her personality is shining! She’s a sweetheart!   This fluffy-tailed beauty is very much a “people dog.”  Sitting for treats or before a walk?  Yup! Follows her humans around? 100% Belly rubs as long as you can give? Yes, please! Snoozing curled up while you work nearby? Done!  With a slow introduction, Sally is generally ambivalent to our senior dog. They exist in one another’s orbit, but don’t choose to interact much; we’ve even had recent success walking them together. Speaking of walks, Sally enjoys a nice long walk! If you’re looking for an exercise partner with a confident stride, she’s your girl!  At the beginning of walks, and if she sees small prey animals, Sally pulls and needs someone who can hold on long enough to redirect her.  We’ve been working on sitting, waiting, and turning around—she’s a smart girl and is trying, but little critters are just so interesting! Sally should probably not be in a home with small pets due to her prey drive. She has been wonderful with our teen and other children we’ve met on walks. Sally O'Malley is a beautiful, smart girl with lots of spirit and love to give!To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org March 7, 2026, 10:03 pm
