Story
Full of charm (working on the grace), the proud owner of the most jubilant run and with the softest eyes, Sable is a heartbreaker in the making. He loves to run, he loves to play with people, siblings, and toys. Sable is a confident little big dog with a laid-back attitude and a lot of patience. He enjoys sliding down snowbanks and sniffing everything. His favourite game is walking slowly and deliberately amongst his siblings with a toy in his mouth to entice a chase. Sable will happily sit back on your lap and enjoy belly rubs until your legs go numb! Sable knows his name, will sit for a treat and will slowly go up and down the stairs.

Story
Prone to random outbursts of zoomies and tail chasing Gem is a very entertaining girl. She loves to play and run with her siblings, but she is also very content playing with a toy on her own. Outside, Gem is a master twig and leaf collector. She loves to pounce in the snow and see what lays beneath. When she is tired Gem will happily lay beside you for a snooze and belly rub or take herself off to her bed. Gem knows her name, will sit for a treat and will carefully go up the stairs but requires supervision coming down (those legs are just a bit too short).

Story
With the confidence to match his curiosity level, Huxley is one charismatic, cool dude that wants to go places. Any new object or situation is met with a sniff and a Huxley bear-paw swipe. He loves to run and play with you, his siblings or with a small squeaky ball! Huxley loves doing his zoomies in the snow and chasing down leaves and twigs. When he is ready for a snooze Huxley will cuddle with you in exchange for a gentle chest and belly massage, stopping early will result in Huxley bear-paw swipes! For the many adventures ahead Hux comes prepared with a double dew claw on his left hind leg for extra grip on those long winding trails he dreams of exploring. Huxley responds to his name, comes when called and will sit when told. Hux will zip up and down the stairs before you are halfway down!

Story
Meet Dixie 🤍 Dixie is a 5-year-old spayed Husky/Kangal mix who’s looking for her second chance at happily ever after. Dixie spent her life living the farm dream alongside her mama, enjoying wide open spaces and a peaceful routine. When her family had to leave the farm and move into the city, her mom was lucky enough to find another farm home—but Dixie is now waiting patiently with us for her perfect match. And what a girl she is. Dixie is incredibly well-mannered. She doesn’t jump up—instead, she gently walks over and leans into you for affection, soaking up every bit of love you’re willing to give. She’s calm, kind, and has an old-soul energy that makes you instantly feel at ease. When it comes to meals, Dixie isn’t in a rush—she prefers to graze throughout the day rather than gobble everything down at once. A true laid-back lady. She has lived harmoniously with other dogs, cats, and livestock, making her a wonderful addition to a farm or acreage setting. However, chickens are a bit too tempting for her, so a home without them is best. For a dog who has never lived indoors, Dixie has adjusted beautifully to shelter life. She calmly trots between her indoor and outdoor kennel and pays no attention to the other dogs around her—just quietly going about her day. Dixie is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention—but absolutely deserves it. She would thrive in a home that offers her space, routine, and a whole lot of love. ✨ If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion with a gentle heart, Dixie might just be your girl. Her adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, started on her vaccination schedule, and microchipped. 👉 Head to www.mjhs.ca → Adopt → Adoptable Animals → scroll to Dixie’s photo to submit your application.
