Story
Millie Stayed by Her Friend’s Side… Now She Needs Someone to Stand by Hers!Millie’s story is one of both heartbreak and hope. When she was found on the streets, she was painfully skinny and struggling to survive. But what showed her true heart was where she chose to stay: by the side of her dog companion who had been hit by a car. Despite the danger and her own hunger, Millie refused to leave him, showing a loyalty that can’t be taught—it’s simply who she is.Now safe in rescue, Millie is learning what it feels like to have a full belly, a soft bed, and people who care for her. Through it all, she has remained the same sweet soul—gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. She leans in for pets, cherishes every bit of kindness, and is ready to give her heart fully to the family lucky enough to adopt her.Millie has already proven her devotion in the hardest of times. Now she deserves to know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that same unconditional love.If you’re looking for a loyal companion with the gentlest heart, Millie is waiting for you.Her ideal home will be one where she is an only "child" and has property to run around, swim, and be a recreational companion for her person!***Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.

Story
Tundra is a sweet natured dog rescued from a major highway, possible dumped or escaped. He has hip dysplasia, which may affect him as he ages, along with cataracts causing partial blindness and some hearing loss. Tundra loves squeaky toys and gets along well with other dogs but may chase cats. Due to his vision and hearing challenges, he's best suited for homes with older children. He can be very vocal. He is four years old as of 4/22/25.

Story
Hi there! My name is Colleen, and I am an approximately 9-year-old, 50-pound female Siberian Husky mix with a heart full of love.I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who adores people and enjoys being part of a family. I love spending time with other dogs—especially male dogs—and I do best with calm, respectful canine companions. I can be a bit dominant with some female dogs, so I would do best with a male dog or a submissive female. Like a true husky, I’m delightfully chatty and love to “talk,” whether I’m sharing my excitement, asking for attention, or simply joining in the conversation. Some of my favorite things include playing with dog friends, soaking up belly rubs, chasing balls, and enjoying tasty treats. While I haven’t been around kids in my foster home, my gentle and loving nature suggests I could be a wonderful family dog. I would do best in a home without cats.I’m fully potty trained, walk nicely on leash, and have wonderful house manners. I am crate trained, and while I may protest a bit at first, I settle best with soothing classical music and when crated in a room with another dog—having a buddy nearby helps me feel secure and relaxed.Overall, I’m an easygoing, loving husky who would make a loyal, joyful companion. I’m ready to bring warmth, conversation, and lots of love into my forever home. ##2632538##

Story
Meet Leif Hi! My name is Leif, and I’m a 4-month-old male Husky mix with the sweetest soul and a gentle, loving nature. My siblings, my mom, and I were found dumped at an abandoned house when I was only about 2½ weeks old — right before the winter freeze. Thankfully, the rescue stepped in just in time to bring us somewhere safe and warm, giving us the chance to grow into happy, healthy puppies. Now I’m the last of my litter still looking for a home… but my foster says I’m also the sweetest and the calmest of them all. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but once I feel safe, my true personality shines. I’m incredibly affectionate and love nothing more than being snuggled. I’ll happily melt into your arms and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. While I’m still very much a puppy (and yes — I have my playful, silly Husky moments!), I tend to be more on the medium energy side and a bit more laid-back compared to my siblings. I enjoy playtime and exploring, but I’m just as happy settling in for cuddles and quiet time with my people. Leif is also doing wonderfully with his training — he’s making great progress with both potty training and crate training and is already building a strong foundation for his future home. I just need a family who will give me a little patience at first and help me continue building confidence — and in return, I’ll be the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly pup with a nice balance of playful and calm, I might just be your perfect match. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply to adopt me here:https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/70992/generic Leif is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it’s the perfect fit. ##2634583##

Story
Nico is a 2-year old (as of 2025) light red/white husky that is needed a new home after his family developed severe allergies. He is a friendly boy that was the result of an "oops" litter. He is friendly with other dogs, neutered, and will be updated on shots shortly. He is on heartworm preventative and will be heartworm tested prior to going to his new home. He is respectful of a 5 foot fence, but like any husky needs a secure fence for safety. As with all huskies, we recommend no cats in the home due to prey drive.  ##2314402##
