Story
Shirley was initially a stray in a neighborhood in Rye, which is a small town outside of Livingston, TX. A couple of the residents there were feeding her, one lady even brought her in for a spay surgery. During the time that Shirley was undergoing surgery, the resident who brought her in had a death in the family and had to immediately leave town to start making funeral arrangements. Shirley is now residing here at the shelter and looking for her own family who will love her like the neighborhood loved her. Shirley has made great friends here at the SPCA. She loves everyone, and the kennel staff is growing very fond of her. She has a great smile that will melt your heart. No wonder the neighborhood loved her so much! If you're looking at her profile and thinking she's the perfect dog, she is! She deserves to be shown the love she's been looking for.

Story
On 9.22.2023, I found & rescued "Biggie" from a shopping centre. He had been dumped there, and the staff at the store nearby was feeding him & his brother dog until I came across them. As much as I desire to keep him, it’s just not feasible as I'm relocating to South Africa at the beginning of June & he cannot stay where I am residing. I think Biggie is around 1.5 years old as he is young & full of energy. He has done fantastic with our fellow neighbor dogs. He is well adjusted to being outside in nature as he has spent time on thirty (30) acres. In terms of commands, he knows sit very well and comes to me when I whistle. He is leash trained but also trained to go off leash yet remain within a radius of me when on walks. He has learned his boundaries quite well. He is quite vocal and likes to howl "whoop, whoop" to make his presence known. He has a hilariously slinky body & is just a fluff ball of joy. Overall, he has a loving demeanor and enjoys sufficient cuddles & attention ❤️.

Story
He is a very sweet and loyal dog. He is very playful with us and loves to be loved on and cuddle. He is usually good with new animals brought into the home but you have to watch them all in the beginning to make sure that he is good with them and they are good with him. He has done good with coming in to a home with animals already there. He is very territorial about his kennel as it is his safe space and he doesn’t want anyone but himself in it. He is very protective of his food and will growl and snap towards anyone that is trying to take it while he is eating it. He usually does very well with children as long the children aren’t jumping all over him and bothering him when he is trying to relax. However he did bite one of my children. My child got into the kennel with him and Winston gave him a warning bark then snapped and bite him on the face. My child is okay. However my son has autism and doesn’t understand to not do that Due to that we have to let Winston go.
