Story
Hi, I'm Vanilla! 🐶✨ A little lovebug with a big heart, ready to start a brand new chapter — maybe with you? I'm a 2-year-old girl, full of energy, love, and second chances. I didn’t always have it easy — I was left behind at an oyster factory in Tongyeong, forgotten and alone. Even after having four puppies, no one looked out for me… but that’s all in the past now. I was rescued, and ever since, I've been learning how beautiful life can be when you’re loved. Now I know how to trust, how to play, and most of all — how to love back. I’ve even picked up some smart tricks like “sit,” “paw,” and “go to your house!” Not bad, right? I’m super friendly and absolutely adore people — men and women alike. I haven’t met many young children yet, and since I’m pretty bouncy and energetic, I might do best with older kids who can match my vibe. Other dogs? LOVE them. I get excited to meet new furry friends and will happily introduce myself first! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I can’t say how we’d get along, but I don’t have any aggression or prey drive — I’m more about snuggles and zoomies than anything else. I’m still working on leash training, and I’m not totally used to living indoors yet, but I’m a quick learner. If you show me the way, I’ll follow. I’m a good girl with my barking, too — I might bark when someone new comes in or if I’m really excited, but if you say “no,” I usually settle down quickly. I love being touched, hugged, and cuddled, especially by women. I’ll even give you gentle hugs to show you how much I care. With male guardians, I’m respectful — if you’re not in the mood for snuggles, I’ll understand and give you space. I enjoy toys but I don’t destroy things in the house, and I’m not possessive over food or toys either. Sharing is caring, right? Health-wise, I’m in great shape — no major illnesses in my past, just a whole lot of resilience and a heart full of love. Now all that’s missing is a forever family. A warm home. A couch to cuddle on. A person — or people — who will never leave me behind again. Could that be you? I’m ready to be your joy, your companion, and your sunshine. Let’s write our story together. 💛 With love, Vanilla

Story
I’m a small Jack Russell Terrier mix girl, weighing about 6kg. I may be tiny, but my heart is incredibly big. My sister and I were rescued after wandering the streets at a very young age. Even though life was tough in the beginning, I never let it take away my bright spirit or my warm, loving nature. I love other dogs and make friends easily. Meeting new furry buddies is one of my favorite things, and I’m always gentle and friendly. I adore people even more — if our eyes meet, my tail starts wagging before I can even think about it! I just can’t help wanting to be close to you. I’m also a great walking companion. I match your pace beautifully and enjoy taking in the world around me with calm curiosity. Walks with me are peaceful, happy moments. I’m still a puppy, so I’m learning my potty manners at home. But don’t worry — I’m smart, eager to please, and I pay close attention to my humans. With a bit of consistency and love, I’ll learn quickly. Above all, I’m a little girl who loves giving and receiving affection. My heart is warm, soft, and ready to belong to someone special. I’m waiting patiently — and hopefully — for my first and forever family. If you can give a small life like me a warm home and endless love, I promise to give you all of my heart in return. 💛 With love, Seri 🐶💕

Story
Under AKR Custody Review (Adoption temporarily on hold pending resolution of foster situation) Currently in Vancouver!!! Name: Mongmong Age: 4 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) Mix Color: Black, tan, and white Weight: 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs) Height (at shoulder): 32 cm (12.6 inches)   Mongmong is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves people — whether you’re a familiar friend or someone he’s just met, he’ll happily come over for pets and attention. He’s especially gentle with young children and is comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly. Once he warms up, he’ll even show you his belly! He’s curious about other dogs and will approach them to say hello, though he doesn’t typically engage in play. Gentle with cats, not much interest in them. Mongmong has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities like walks, but settles down calmly afterward. He’s well-behaved on leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion nicely. He is not food aggressive and remains calm in a kennel or during car rides. Mongmong was found injured, likely from a car accident, and was at risk of euthanasia at a municipal shelter. After being rescued, Mongmong had one eye removed due to phthisis bulbi, a condition that caused his eye to shrink and lose function and had hernia surgery on 25.05.01-but he’s recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start Mongmong is a brave little survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved — could that be with you? Story
CURRENTLY IN TORONTO!!! Yeontan Breed: Terrier mix Age: 3 years old Gender: Neutered male Color: Black Weight: 6.1 kg (13.5 lbs) Height: 42 cm (shoulder height)   About Yeontan   Yeontan is a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old Terrier mix with a gentle, people-loving personality. He enjoys human attention and loves being close to his people. If you show him interest, he will happily return it with even more affection — rubbing against you, asking for pets, and showing his belly once he feels comfortable.   He tends to prefer women slightly more than men, but he is friendly with strangers and allows handling easily. He can be picked up and held in your arms, and he truly enjoys being cuddled by people he trusts   Personality & Temperament • Good with people: Yes (very friendly) • Good with kids: Unknown (has not met children under 13, but expected to do well) • Good with dogs: Selective • Good with cats: Unknown (can be tested) • Energy level: Low to medium   Yeontan is not a “party dog” who plays with everyone. He prefers a small circle of dog friends and enjoys calm, gentle dogs who are similar in size or have a softer personality. He does not like large or very high-energy dogs and may avoid them.   Daily Life & Training   Yeontan walks nicely on leash without pulling. He follows his handler well and enjoys calm outdoor time rather than intense activity   He currently does outdoor potty only and is well-mannered in a kennel. He does not show signs of separation anxiety or excessive barking.   Other Behaviours • No food guarding with people or dogs • May guard toys slightly from other dogs • Will bark at dogs who play too roughly with him • Not aggressive, just communicates boundaries • Nervous about getting into cars (needs to be carried in), but once inside, he rides well with no motion sickness   Ideal Home   Yeontan would do best in a calm home with gentle, patient adopters who enjoy companionship more than intense activity. A home with no dogs or with one small, calm dog would be ideal. He would thrive with someone who enjoys cuddling, relaxed walks, and spending quality time together   Rescue Story   Yeontan entered a high-kill shelter in November 2025 and was scheduled for euthanasia. At the time he was found wearing a white collar, which suggests he once had an owner but was likely abandoned. He was rescued in early December and brought to the AKR Center, where he has been safe and cared for ever since Apply to adopt : https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! ##2648050##

Story
Hi, my name is ALVIN and I would love to find my forever home! Let me tell you a bit about me... I am a Jack Russell/Spitz cross, I am approximately 5 yrs old and I weigh 19 kgs (42 lbs), I live in Greater Vancouver, and I love adventures in the forest with my humans. I am currently with my new foster but I was previously with my rescuer (I'm originally from the Middle East) but she had to move elsewhere and couldn't take me with her even though she wished she could. As a result, I am with my current foster, looking for a new adopter. I have been a Canadian for about 3 years, living with a couple of other dogs and even a cat for a while. My rescuer was actually planning on adopting me but life changes have meant that she can't follow through with that idea despite her deep love for me (and mine for her). Given my breed, I can be a bit of a bossy guy but with a calm and confident human, I am your most loyal and loving family member. I'm social with most dogs I pass by on walks (although I do get energetic about wanting to play with some of them). My past has caused me to have some initial hesitations with some humans but I am incredibly bonded with my human pack so whisper a few kind words in my direction and I'm all yours! I just love kind words from humans!! Like many dogs, I just need a patient adopter who is gentle in helping me to adjust to my new home and neighbourhood.  I have even learned to love a cat (amazing, eh?!) and he and I had some playful moments. I was so happy to give him a play bow and, even though he didn't really play like a dog, we both seemed to enjoy each other's company.  Given my sensitive nature, I am best living in a house with a yard but I might be able to get used to apartment living. I wouldn't be a good fit with children or young teens but another dog would be nice, especially a social and gentle female. As for adults, I don't have any specific fears except that I appreciate an adopter who can, at the right time, "whisper sweet nothings in my ear" (as my current foster puts it) rather than stating growly commands at me. Those sweet words will help me to be the very best dog I can be while, at the same time, helping me to have a sense of limits and appropriate behaviours. I truly want to please my humans as well as to cuddle, act goofy, and generally be your bestie.  If you would like to meet me, I would certainly like to meet you! Please just fill out an adoption application for me and, presto, we can meet!! I am immunized, neutered, and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $750 plus taxes. Training: basicLeash skills: Please be prepared to further train me.House trained: Yes  I have been neuetered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. ##2463151##

Hello there. My name is MYLIE, and here's a bit about me:Breed: Jack Russell Terrier mixAge: 3 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 12 kgHeight: TBDCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: friendly, social, great with other dogs, cuddly Can you tell by these eyes what a friendly girl I am?Being quite social, too, making new friends is one of my favorite things to do.Life took a scary turn on a cold, snowy day. There I was, wet, shivering, and all alone, until a kind man spotted me.He realized that my human, a homeless man struggling with addiction, just couldn't give me the care I needed, so he gently picked me up and took me to safety. That’s how my time at the shelter began. After being rescued from a difficult situation, life at the shelter was a bit scary among the big dogs. But then, an angel appeared! A kind woman decided to sponsor me and helped me get spayed, and soon after, a loving foster family opened their doors to me. Now, I finally know what it feels like to be safe, warm, and loved.I’ve grown into a calm, affectionate girl with a heart that’s just overflowing with gratitude. Making new furry friends is a breeze, as getting along with other dogs is a true specialty.Quiet, gentle, and well-behaved, barking or chewing on things just isn't my style. Whether cruising in a car or strolling on a leash, staying calm and enjoying the ride is what I do best. Possessiveness or anxiety? Not in my vocabulary.Craving love and gentle cuddles is more my speed! Miracles have already saved me twice, and now the search is on for a forever family to show me I'm finally home. Health notes:I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2560569##
