Story
This absolutely kills me and i have been crying non stop while writing this post. My 6yr old neutered jack Russell terrier is needing a new home. He is extremely protective and very loyal. He is house trained, loves to cuddle and loves to sleep on the bed. He absolutely loves balls, especially racquet balls. The not so good- he does not do well with other dogs, strangers and small children. He does good on a leash but will bark at everything and everybody even though he has been leashed trained since he was a puppy. The reason we are rehoming is he has become more aggressive with our senior dog. They have been raised together since he was a puppy, however, over the last few years he has been getting mean and aggressive towards our senior dog. Lucas really needs to be the only dog. He is truly a love bug and loves to cuddle and be by your side 24-7.

Story
Buttercup is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She loves kids, and is good with other animals. She comes with lots of energy. Loves to jump, play with her ball, and tease the cat. She does not have a mean bone in her body. She talks a lot and is very entertaining. She needs tender loving care and patience, as she can be a bit shy. She loves to snuggle at night. If you are familiar with the Jack Russell breed, you will get lots of joy from this precious girl!

Story
Corona has a special place in my heart. She was given to me by a friend who rescued her off the street. She has been with me through a really bad abusive relationship where she was abused as well. That relationship most definitely took a toll on her behavior but she had my other dog to guide her in how to be a good dog. Last year my oldest dog and her guide passed away. At first I didn't notice any huge change but all of a sudden it was like everything that I had taught her went out the window and her nervousness was amplified. She is a really sweet dog but she is a nervous pee-er which I can no longer handle since I am moving back home with a roommate. I need someone with a lot of patience who would be able to love her and cuddle with her as much as I did.

Story
* Independent and curious * Likes other dogs* Enjoy chasing things* Can be untrusting of humans* Doesn't like leashes * Needs a five-foot fenced yard * Best in a home without children under the age of 14Meet Flash, an eight-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier with a confident and independent spirit. While he's still learning to trust people and understand their kindness, Flash prefers to navigate the world on his own terms. His curiosity shines when exploring the outdoors, finding joy in chasing things and discovering the thrill of toys. Although not a fan of leashes, Flash's playful nature emerges when surrounded by other dogs during outdoor playtime. A 5-foot fence is recommended to keep him secure, as he is not yet leash trained. Flash needs a patient family willing to nurture his confidence at his own pace and demonstrate that humans can be trustworthy. Despite his initial reservations, Flash has the potential to become a fine friend for anyone who adopts him, although he is best suited for a home without young children.----Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Meet Noodle! Noodle is a very special little guy who was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. Noodle is blind and has neurological issues, most likely cerebellar hypoplasia which impacts his motor skills. Despite all this Noodle loves to cruise around just as much as he loves to cuddle. Noodle needs a calm, quiet home preferably with a family that is experienced with blind dogs. Noodle also experiences idiopathic aggression and should not go to a home with small children. Noodle will need to be fostered prior to adoption to make sure it is a good fit.

Story
Slow introductions are essential to earning winsome 1-year-old Violet’s trust. Once past her initial shyness, this 14-pound “flower” began to bloom in her foster home, revealing how very lovable and sweet she is, climbing onto laps and cuddling, happily waking up and running to say “good morning” to everyone with a constantly wagging tail. After being slowly introduced to her two doggy foster friends, she began playing first with the small one and then with the larger one, making them one dynamic doggy trio! Famous for her frequent zoomies, running laps around the house, Violet loves playing with and grabbing toy after toy, and chasing them around the house as well. She also loves going for walks, walking well on leash, is motivated by food, small soft toys and love, and especially enjoys chicken, duck and rabbit treats, accepting them gently. While she currently knows no commands, she’s eager to please and to learn, is crate trained and at work on her house-training. Now for Violet to truly bloom, she needs particularly patient adopters, perhaps with older dog-savvy children, who will not only win her trust but introduce her slowly to the wide world outside, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
