Hello! I’m Max! I’m a sweet, playful boy looking for my new home. I’ve lived indoors my whole life and am fully house trained. I even ring a bell when I need to go outside! I’m crate trained when left alone, love car rides, and get very excited for walks (sometimes I pull because I’m so eager). I know lots of commands like sit, stay, lay down, sit pretty, fetch, and more I’m very treat-motivated and love learning. I’m a fun, affectionate dog with a puppy-like personality. I love fetch, swimming, chasing sprinklers, and cuddling. Balls are my favorite, and if you hold one too long, I’ll sit there wiggling with excitement. I enjoy stuffies (especially taking them apart) and have a bit of a sassy streak, but I adjust well once I’m comfortable.I can be nervous around strangers and may bark or growl at first, but I warm up with time. I’d do best in a home with children over 12 who understand dog boundaries. I’m shy and fearful with other dogs and would need a slow, in-shelter meet and greet. I’ve chased cats before, so a cat-free home is best. I’m nervous but well-behaved at the vet. With patience, love, and understanding, I’ll be a loyal, playful companion. I can’t wait to meet you and show you what a good boy I am!

0126001 - Meet Hazel A 2 year-old, ~15 lb. Terrier mix who is ready to find her forever home through Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue. Hazel came to us from New Mexico, where life was not kind to her and she ended up on a high-kill shelter, she also survived distemper and is now happily distemper-free and recently arrived in Colorado. Hazel is learning how to be a dog for the very first time — feeling grass under her paws, exploring her surroundings, and cautiously learning to trust. She is very skittish and guarded, but incredibly curious. She follows her foster family around, wanting to be part of things, even if she’s not quite brave enough yet. She tends to prefer women over men and would do best in a calm environment with older children to avoid being overwhelmed. Hazel does wonderfully with other dogs. Since arriving in her foster home, she has become best friends with the family dog, Daisy,(who also is a Sloppy Kisses rescue) and the two spend much of their day playing, stealing toys, basking in the sun, and going on walks together. Hazel gains confidence from canine companionship and would thrive in a home with another friendly dog, she also does fine with cats. Once Hazel feels safe, her playful, puppy-like personality starts to shine through. She’s treat-motivated, LOVES scratches behind the ears, walks well on a leash, and is doing great with potty training — comfortable using puppy pads and having had very few accidents. She can sleep in a kennel, though she doesn’t prefer it, and likes to sleep in the same room as her foster family. She sleeps through the night without issues. Hazel has been through so much already and truly deserves a patient, understanding home that will give her the time, love, and support she needs to build confidence and fully come out of her shell.
