Story
They are Jack Russell (JRTs)mixes who came in to our rescue August 2020. Benji is 5 years old and has a tan coat. Bear is 4 years old and has a black coat. They are lost without each other. They like belly rubs and love food. They are true to JRT disposition. JRTs are prey animals. They were bred to hunt small animals. For this reason, absolutely no cats can come in contact with these two. JRTs are also prone to overeating and getting chubby. They have been on specialty dog food to keep their weight at an appropriate level. They see themselves as alpha dogs. They do not like other dogs. We also do not recommend small children around them. They need a home with no other animals and no children under 10. They need a patient, but consistent owner to help them adapt to new surroundings. Please visit our website at humanesocietyhoco.org and fill out an adoption application or view more info on our doggies. We are open on Saturday (10am - 2pm) every week. Please come by and say hi to all of our sweet doggies and for more photos visit us on instagram @dogsofhocohumane

Story
Huckleberry is all energy from morning till night. He needs a very active family without small children. He is bossy, so he would do best as an only dog. He is very affectionate, but because he lived his first three years on a chain, he is still learning to play. He loves stuffed animals and blankets, and is doing well on his crate training. We would like to find him a family that understands the Jack Russell breed.

Story
After being adopted 2 years ago, Garth has found himself back with Paws. Garth is a 3y old with a 30y old dogs energy. He'd love a home with a nice fenced yard to sunbathe in. Garth gets nervous by sounds like storms, fireworks, loud voices, etc. His furever home will have older children (at least school age). Garth says when he packs his toys this time, he hopes it's the last. That his next home is truly his furever home.  If you'd like to provide that home & a new toy box for this handsome boy, get an app in today. ##1408041##

Story
Vita has joined the Paws family.  Vita is full of energy! She can zoom like a rocket. She loves to be with people and immediately took to everyone she met on her first day with us. A toddler, other dogs, & adults.  This lil jumping bean will need an active lifestyle. Lots of yard space and someone to play with her. Jogging partner. Hiking pal. Best buddy to the kids.  If her pictures don't show you her love for life (and joy of her Freedom Ride), then you should submit an app so you can come meet this beautiful girl. ##2021988##

Story
Name: Roxy Breed: Jack Russell Terrier MixSex/Age/Weight: Female/8 years old/10lbsVetting: Up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Please see the special notes regarding Roxy's cancer diagnosis. House-trained/Crate-trained: I am fully house-trained and crate-trained, although my foster parents leave me out of the crate when they are not around. I spend most of my time sleeping anyways.Dogs/Cats/Children: I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I also don’t like cats very much. I have never been around children inside a home but I have met a couple on walks and I seem to like them. Energy Level: Low energy but I enjoy going on short walks. Before FAR/My History: Before coming to FAR, I was surrendered due to a cancerous mass. Since then, I have undergone three surgeries to remove the masses. The vet mentioned that there is still a possibility that the cancer may have spread to other parts of my body. There is also a possibility that the cancerous masses that were removed will come back. The type of cancer I have is an aggressive form of doggy breast cancer. However, I have been doing well and have been gaining weight under the care of my foster parents. Things I like: Cuddles, treats, and getting love. Things I don’t like: Loud noises.Ideal Family/Home: I am a senior dog with special needs, but I am still a loving and sweet companion. I am hoping to find a peaceful and comfortable place to spend my golden years.Special Notes: Roxy is a senior dog with special needs, and due to her cancer diagnosis may require extensive medical care.If you are interested in giving Roxy a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html
