Story
Meet Mister! This distinguished gentleman is estimated to be around 12 years young. While his breed is a bit of a mystery (we think we'll have a better idea once his fur grows back!), his heart is an open book. Mister has been through a lot. As a stray, we believe he suffered a stroke at some point, which is why his head adorably tilts to the side. An x-ray even revealed a bullet from his past, but don't worry, that's all behind him! Despite his tough past, Mister is a lover, not a fighter. He'll happily come to you for cuddles and soak up all the affection you can give. He's got a surprising amount of spunk for a senior dog and enjoys nothing more than sprawling out on a blanket or in the warm sunshine for a good nap. Mister is potty-trained, though he may have the occasional accident due to his age. He doesn't seem to mind noise (possibly because he can't hear very well!), and he's a big fan of mealtime and treats. He's been around cats, dogs, infants, and toddlers, and gets along with everyone! He doesn't bark much, but when he does, his little howl is guaranteed to melt your heart. Mister is looking for a calm and loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by affection. If you're looking for a low-key companion who will fill your days with gentle love and quiet companionship, Mister might just be the perfect dog for you! Mister is neutered, current on vaccines, had full mouth tooth extractions, heartworm test was negative, receives monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, dewormed, and is microchipped with registration paid. Story
Mike is a Jack Russell Terrier mix (best guess!) with a big personality tucked into his compact, 17-pound frame. Born on 1/8/26 (estimated), he’s everything you’d expect from a young pup—curious, playful, and always ready to turn everyday moments into entertainment. Mike is a fun-loving, active little guy who enjoys running around the house, playing with toys, and romping with other dogs. He’s friendly and outgoing, happily greeting new people and fitting in just about anywhere. While he’s always up for playtime, he also has a softer side and enjoys being picked up and cuddled when he’s ready to recharge. He’s already off to a great start with training—Mike does well in a crate and is mostly potty trained, though like any puppy, he still has occasional accidents. He’s a quick learner and will continue to thrive with a family committed to helping him build on his skills, including house training, crate training, and basic obedience. He can get a little excited and may jump up on people, but that’s just part of his happy, enthusiastic nature and something his future family can help him polish. Mike gets along well with other dogs, cats, and new people, and his adaptable personality means he could do well in a variety of home environments. He’d especially enjoy having another dog to play with, but it’s not required. If you’re looking for a cheerful, confident pup who brings both energy and cuddles to the table (and prefers receiving kisses over giving them), Mike might just be your guy. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Ike is a Jack Russell Terrier mix (best guess!) with a playful heart and a whole lot of charm packed into his 17.5-pound frame. Born on 1/8/26 (estimated), he’s a happy, curious puppy who brings a nice balance of energy and affection to the mix. Ike enjoys all the classic puppy activities—running around the house, playing with toys, and having fun with other dogs—but what really sets him apart is his sweet, snuggly side. He’s the kind of pup who will happily pause mid-play to climb into your lap and soak up some attention. He’s generous with kisses and loves being close to his people, making him a great match for someone looking for both a playmate and a cuddle buddy. He’s already doing well with crate training and is mostly potty trained, though he still has occasional accidents as he continues learning. Ike is a smart puppy who picks things up quickly and will benefit from a family committed to continuing his training, including house manners and basic obedience. Like many young pups, he can get a little excited and may jump up on people, but with consistency, he’ll continue to improve. Ike is friendly, outgoing, and does well with other dogs, cats, and new people. He hasn’t been exposed to children yet but has the kind of easygoing, affectionate personality that could make him a great addition to many types of homes. While not required, he would likely enjoy having another dog around for companionship and play. If you’re looking for a puppy who can keep up with playtime but also melt into your lap at the end of the day, Ike might be your perfect fit. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
We can't have a Bonnie without a Clyde! Clyde was terrified at animal control, and he showed teeth to just about everyone. He LOVES other dogs, and quickly started to trust his foster mom. Sometimes, they just need patience and love. This is why foster families are SO important! Clyde was at risk of euthanasia due to his fear-based aggression. This poor little guy was just misunderstood. He is just 3-years-old, and he is a little plump at 12-pounds. We think he's likely a Chihuahua/JRT mix. Clyde must have another friendly dog in his forever home. He would be best in a family without young children. Someone who can continue to help him to trust strangers would be ideal. Clyde is good on a leash, in the car, likes to cuddle, and he likes to play. He is fine in a crate, but you have to let him come out on his own time. He is terrified if you try to pull him out manually. Can you help bring joy to a little lad like Clyde? If so, he promises to return that love in spades. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $345. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, I'm Pepsi. I feel like I'm a little misunderstood so I'd like to explain me better. You see, I've really never known love, the warmth of a home, having my own food, a warm bed, toys to play with, or anything like that. I have foster siblings that try to show me, and a foster mom that is really patient with me, and I'm trying, but sometimes I want left alone to process. Please don't think I don't love you and want to be around you, I am just overwhelmed. When I'm eating, I don't want anyone around me, I'm afraid you'll take my food before I'm full or my fur siblings won't let me have it to begin with. I'm really afraid of sudden movements because I don't know what's happening and why you're suddenly changing your behavior so fast. You're so much bigger than me so I get afraid when you walk by because you might step on me and hurt me so I'm going to run past you and get out of the way; please just let me out of the way. I hate my feet being touched, please don't touch them for any reason; if they're dirty, let me stand in water to soak them clean, if they're wet, let me lay on a towel on your lap and pet me while they dry, it's probably best that a Vet trims my nails so I can be sedated otherwise it's probably best if I wear a muzzle. When I come into the room where you are, that's me showing you my affection. I'll come up to you and stand by you and smell you and let you pet me as long as you don't scare me with sudden movements. If you pick me up and set me on your lap, I'll lay with you and snuggle while you pet me...I really do love pers, I just get afraid sometimes and need you to tell me I'm safe and you won't hurt me. I like to rock with you at a slow easy pace, and it's even better if you read to me. I don't care what you read, I like to hear a quiet calm voice. My foster mom is working on my confidence. She holds me in front of a mirror and tells me I'm beautiful and that I'm loved and safe, and what a big brave girl I'm becoming; this reassures me that you love me and want me to be your family. I may take a little extra work and patience, but I'm an amazing girl and will be a great family member if you take the time with me All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities!
