NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 3/23/2024:  Ava Mae - female - approx 4 years old - 12.6 pounds - Jack Russell Terrier Reason for intake:   Ava Mae was posted on-line for a new home along with a Beagle.  The person who posted was helping someone who had the dogs after they were abandoned upon him by a "friend"...  (I guess that friendship is over now).   She met the man when two of the dogs got out of the yard.  The man was overwhelmed by it all... claiming the dogs keep getting out and he has three dogs of his own.  She offered to help him find somewhere for the two dogs to go and that's where we come in.  We were able to take in the little JRT and we are trying to find a rescue for the Beagle since we just don't have room for a dog his size right now.  Ava Marie is a sweet little girl and heading to our vet the week of 3/25/2024.  (Note: It appears her left eye is smaller than her right eye and she seems to be squinting so we will have our vet check that out.)  Stay tuned! Please contact Jeff Tarpley (JEFFnTEXARKANA@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Kacey is a female red and white Jack Russell Terrier. She is 8 years old and she weighs 17-18 pounds. Kacey is spayed and fully vaccinated including rabies. She is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Kacey is ready for adoption. Kacey is well-behaved and friendly but new situations make her nervous. She was nervous coming into rescue and at first was only happy when she could play with other dogs outside. Eventually Kacey gave up avoiding the people and has been sweetening up each day. In a regular home we think she will settle in faster. Kacey’s owner surrendered her due to the owners age, health and mobility issues. Kacey is potty trained and walks on a leash. She can be kenneled but doesn’t really care for it. Two things we definitely want for Kacey for her maximum happiness: a fenced yard to play in, and a playful canine friend. Adoption fee is $200.
