Story
Scruffy’s soulful eyes tell a story of a hard past, but he has a hopeful spirit of better days ahead. He was caught after running free in an Indianapolis neighborhood for 4+ months, visiting with neighbor dogs and eating food that people left out for him. After a few rough days, the shelter sought a foster for him to decompress.  It is clear from his comfort in the home that he was once someone’s pet. He is both potty and crate trained and very food motivated. However, he is fearful of people that try to get too close or touch him.  He tolerates his face touched and allows an occasional nose boop, but all other touch is on his terms. Many a nights I wake to find him curled up in the crook of my legs. He needs a home that will accept that he may never be a lap dog, but can still be a great companion.  Scruffy is a #20 terrier mix that is roughly 2-3 years old. He is a playful guy. There isn’t a toy he doesn’t want to drag out if the bin and scatter around the house, or a bone he doesn’t want to try out. He loves being with dogs about his size- both to rumble and cuddle. He walks great on a leash and moves pretty darn fast for a guy with short legs.  Although he hasn’t been cat tested, he isn’t bothered at all by the neighborhood cats that jump into the backyard. A secured fence is a must for Scruffy! He also needs another dog in the home.   Scruffy is fully vetted & his adoption fee has been sponsored.  Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com.  Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved. ##1755169##

Story
Hi, my name is Sheldon! I'm a very small, senior guy who is in a foster home where I'm learning to adjust. So far I really love to sleep in and on pillows and snuggle. I recently got a dental and I only have a few teeth left so I really like my wet food. My foster mom says I'm pretty quiet unless I hear something that sparks my interest then I bark a little, but I'm easy to settle down. I live with another senior dog and a young small dog and I do well with them. I really enjoy using the other senior dog, Kipper, as a pillow sometimes. My foster mom also says I am not a morning dog and prefer to sleep in. She has to gently wake me up and pick me up to go outside in the morning. I can't wait to find my own home where I can get all the pillows and cuddles. I can't wait to meet you!Born 04/01/2010- neutered- recently had a dental- needs wet foodFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org  ##1815045##

Story
Hi, I'm Albert! I'm a young senior gentlemen who enjoys playing, running around, and getting scratches. I prefer slow introductions to other dogs. I would love to find a home where someone would be home most of the day or have someone visit me (like a dog sitter, family member, etc) halfway through my owners shift so I can get some attention and play! I can't wait to be able to rest my little head in my new home. I can't wait to meet you!Born 06/01/2015- adoption fee $250- neutered- small at 18lbs- does well with older childrenFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org ##1735398##

An application must be submitted to meet this little lady. This is what Harley's foster family has to say about her: She’s a very affectionate alpha girl who prefers to be a lap dog princess. She's good with cats and dogs, and is house trained. She loves stuffed squeaky toys and peanut butter raw hides. She’s great at scaling fences and gates, so it is not recommended that you leave her outdoors if no one’s home as she’ll try to find you.
