Story
Breed Guess: Jack Russell Terrier Mix Age: 2 years on 8/28/2021 Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 20 pounds currently Children: No Cats: Unknown at this time Dogs: Meet and Greet required Housebroken: Doing well in the foster home Adoption fee: $250.00 **Please note that Harley is living in a foster home and is not at the shelter. An application must be submitted to meet this little lady. This is what Harley's foster family has to say about her: She’s a very affectionate alpha girl who prefers to be a lap dog princess. She's good with cats and dogs, and is house trained. She loves stuffed squeaky toys and peanut butter raw hides. She’s great at scaling fences and gates, so it is not recommended that you leave her outdoors if no one’s home as she’ll try to find you. If this sweet girl sounds like a good match for you, please fill out an application today! The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Scruffy’s soulful eyes tell a story of a hard past, but he has a hopeful spirit of better days ahead. He was caught after running free in an Indianapolis neighborhood for 4+ months, visiting with neighbor dogs and eating food that people left out for him. After a few rough days, the shelter sought a foster for him to decompress.  It is clear from his comfort in the home that he was once someone’s pet. He is both potty and crate trained and very food motivated. However, he is fearful of people that try to get too close or touch him.  He tolerates his face touched and allows an occasional nose boop, but all other touch is on his terms. Many a nights I wake to find him curled up in the crook of my legs. He needs a home that will accept that he may never be a lap dog, but can still be a great companion.  Scruffy is a #20 terrier mix that is roughly 2-3 years old. He is a playful guy. There isn’t a toy he doesn’t want to drag out if the bin and scatter around the house, or a bone he doesn’t want to try out. He loves being with dogs about his size- both to rumble and cuddle. He walks great on a leash and moves pretty darn fast for a guy with short legs.  Although he hasn’t been cat tested, he isn’t bothered at all by the neighborhood cats that jump into the backyard. A secured fence is a must for Scruffy. ##1755169##

Story
Hi, I'm Albert! I'm a young senior gentlemen who enjoys playing, running around, and getting scratches. I prefer slow introductions to other dogs. I would love to find a home where someone would be home most of the day or have someone visit me (like a dog sitter, family member, etc) halfway through my owners shift so I can get some attention and play! I can't wait to be able to rest my little head in my new home. I can't wait to meet you!Born 06/01/2015- adoption fee $250- neutered- small at 18lbs- does well with older childrenFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org ##1735398##

Story
Hi, I'm Mickey. I am a lover! I love playing and cuddling with my people. If my new owner has to work a normal to long shift, I would really like if someone would visit me halfway through the shift so I can have some company. I also think I'd benefit from working with one of the rescue's recommended trainers to help build my confidence so I don't bark as much and feel safe and okay to be alone for longer periods. I really can't wait to find a home to call my own!Born 10/01/2022- adoption fee $300- neutered- small breed at 14.2 lbs- working on house breaking and crate trainingFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org  ##1795015##

Story
Chelsea is a 4 month old sweetheart.  We are not entirely sure of her breed.  She has 2 brothers that look like Corgi mixes but her and Connor are taller.. so, who knows.  Chelsea is doing very well on her potty habits and is overall a nice girl.  She is used to being in a foster home where she was not left alone.   He new foster family is working on her feeling safe when home alone.  If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm tested negative ( puppies age 7 months and older) and microchipped. A puppy's adoption fee is $350.  There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. **WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WHEN YOU SEE THE PUPPY YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.  DO NOT DELAY YOUR APPLICATION SUBMISSION BY SENDING QUESTIONS REGARDING A PUPPY TO OUR GENERAL EMAIL.
