You might want to call me “Dobie, The House Elf” My floppy ears and all of me is just so eager to please. I’m a snuggle muffin. Laid back, mellow gal. Love butt scritches. I get PAWS benefits - full year of any needed vet care! I just need a bit of TLC. Wet food and a napkin wipe. I hoping to find my special person to spend forever with. I don’t ask for much — just someone who will love me, take care of me, and understand my little quirks. Check me out for some hugs.

Hello, I’m Bambi, a gentle girl with a big heart, and I come as part of a very special pair with my brother Pablo!I like to take my time exploring the world one paw at a time. New things are exciting, and with a little patience, I start to feel comfortable and show my sweet and playful personality. Treats and cuddles help me feel confident, and once I do, I love being part of the fun! My brother Pablo is my biggest cheerleader. He helps me feel brave, and together we make the perfect adventure team. We stick close to each other, share lots of cuddles, and love discovering new things side by side.Pablo and I are a bonded pair, so we are looking for a loving home where we can stay together. If you are ready for double the love and an adorable adventure duo, we would be so excited to meet you!

We typically respond within 24 hours if you do not hear from us after completing the application please send us an email adopt@almosthmenm.org   Approximate DOB 1/17/2026 – About 6 lbs right now as adults we are expecting them to be between 25 and 35 lbs but we honestly don't know as they were strays with no parents present we are just using our best guess at breeds based off their personalities and looks. We were told they were Chihuahua mixes however we seriously don't think so - they may be a mix of JRT, Beagle, australian cattle dog, australian shepherd, and/or maybe Chihuahua.  History: These babies were turned into a local shelter at about 5-6 weeks old and only weighing in at 1-2 lbs each. They were severely dehydrated and too young to be away from their momma and needed a little extra support so we received a rescue transfer request. We agreed and now they are old enough to go into their forever homes. They were turned in by themselves with no mom so we are using our best judgement based on their looks and temperaments to try and guess their breeds. We have 4 boys in this group - Aspen, Canyon, Forest, and River. Current Behavior: Very smart and outgoing. These are high energy babies who love to play and wrestle. They love toys, snacks, and lots of love and attention. They love all the other dogs they have met, loved the cats, and are just awesome babies who would love their own families to play with and then cuddle up with to watch some tv.  Housetraining- Currently using puppy pads and have mastered the dog door.   Their ideal home is active with lots of attention and outdoor activities. They will do best with older children who can keep them busy and a family who can keep up with them. Hikes, walks, runs, tug, fetch, maybe agility - they would love it all.     Neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations Adoption Fee $250 We do welcome out-of-state adoptions. Story
Hi, my name is Quincy. I am a three year old Border Terrier who is a red grizzle. I live with my mom and five other dogs here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have a big family and lots of people coming and going. I adore my mom but I am stressed out with having chaos around me all the time. Although it breaks her heart, she wants to find me a forever home where I can get lots of attention and relax into a peaceful environment. One other quiet, friendly dog would be fine or I can be an only child. I have been through obedience and rally training and good manners classes. In fact, I have an AKC Canine Good Citizen title. But at home, especially when someone is coming in, I lose my marbles and bark like a crazy dog. Sometimes I even snap at the dog next to me, and he is my friend. I have had a bark reduction surgery which has made my bark much less shrill and annoying but I still bark at doorbells and mom coming in. She ignores me and that helps me but I go after the other dogs and bully them. Just in high energy times. It's called displaced anxiety. The rest of the time, I am a chill fellow who likes to snooze, wrestle with the Boston Terrier here, and patrol the back yard. I am housebroken, UTD on vax, been health checked so I am ready to travel. I do have heart failure, which sounds really scary but it is controlled by two meds, one over the counter Potassium gluconate and one called Furosemide, which costs $12 a month. I am doing well and have no symptoms of heart failure other than an enlarged heart (which is normal when I take my meds).. I will need checkups to make sure I stay well so I need a parent who is responsible about giving me my daily meds and getting me to the vet every six months to a year. The doc says I should have a normal life span of a Border Terrier. . I look like a little brown bear now and have always been hand stripped but I am fine with clipping as well. I also like the shaggy dog look. I LOVE going to dog classes and learning stuff. I do well in obedience and rally but am pretty unimpressed by the rats at Barn Hunt. Scent work would be awesome to try. I'd really love to do anything with my main human. I like to be close by my human when I am not at training. My mom adores me back and will want the best new family for me. She thinks I can reduce my displaced anxiety if life is calmer with a new, small family. Just having a calm, quiet home should be enough. Do I sound like the boy for your home and lap? I like to cuddle in the evenings when mom is reading or watching TV. So I am looking for a lap of my own. Call my Mom (she won't let my have my own phone) 505-379-2900 or email cn101spotz@gmail.com
