Lizzie’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she and her friends Buster and Belle were struggling to survive. Severely emaciated, covered in ticks and fleas, and frightened by the busy world around her, Lizzie’s chances looked slim. But with rescue, safety, and care, she blossomed into a healthy, happy pup. Now her true personality shines. Lizzie is endlessly snuggly and sweet, the kind of companion who loves nothing more than curling up close. Her short coat is silky soft, and her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. Lizzie has made a full recovery and is thriving, but her heart still beats strongest when she’s near her best friend Buster. Ideally, these two inseparable companions would find a home together, where they can continue their journey side by side. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loving, resilient pup (or maybe even two), Lizzie is waiting to meet you.

The name Elowen means “elm tree,” a symbol of strength, protection, and gentle beauty — a perfect match for this sweet, playful girl. Elowen may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and soon shows off her fun, goofy side. She loves to zoom around the house and will happily use you as her personal bumper to stop her momentum — so be ready for some playful drive-by cuddles! She adores her toys and is perfectly content sitting on the couch chewing on one while her brother and sister have an all-out wrestling match. After watching for a bit, she’ll jump in to play for a few minutes… then head right back to her toy like nothing happened. It’s the cutest balance of playful and independent. Elowen is very food and treat motivated, which makes her eager to learn, and she already goes into her crate when it’s time to eat — a great foundation for crate training and future routines. If you’re looking for a pup who is sweet, silly, playful, and happy entertaining herself (with occasional zoomies included), Elowen would love to find her forever family! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
