Story
Kelvin (6/2/25) was born on St Thomas in conditions that were less than adequate for newborn pups. Kelvin is a classic “coconut retriever” JRT/terrier mix. Mom and Dad are both around 35 pounds. Kelvin has come out of his shell and is doing wonderful in this foster home. He loves being with other pups, is learning housebreaking skills and leash walking and loves toys! He is scheduled for his next set of vaccines and neutering. We are now accepting applications for his adoption. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog Pet Search kL #3301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Say hello to Tatum (but you can call her Tater Tots)! This tiny queen of cozy is a 13lb, 3.5 year old Jack Russell/Dachshund mix who rides like a dream in the car, snoozes like a champ in her crate, gets along with other dogs, and believes every warm blanket was placed on earth just for her. She’s still polishing her house training, but she makes up for it with endless snuggles and adorable squeaky-toy concerts. Her energy level can best be described as "snuggles with some zoomies." Tatum has not met any cats or kids while in her foster home, but we believe she could be fine with either if they are gentle and respectful.  Tatum (aka Tater Tots) is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines. She can join your home today with an approved application. Paws Across Pittsburgh, KL 16182 ##2602439##

Story
Sadie has special requirements and will require her adopter to have a one level home, fenced yard, no small children and no large or energetic dogs.  “Hi, I’m Sadie! I’m an 11-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix searching for a cozy retirement home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by love, warm blankets and good food.  A Little About Me: I’m mostly blind and hard of hearing, but I don’t let that stop me from following my person everywhere. I weigh approximately 20lbs and may need a lift now and then, so someone who can carry me is a necessity.  I’m quiet and gentle, but because of my eyesight, I would do best in a one-level home where it’s easy for me to navigate safely. I have IVDD and take daily medications, but my foster mom keeps me comfortable and happy. Due to my limited mobility, I would not make a good walking partner or being put on a tie-out.  I like to follow my person and explore a bit in the yard but I'm more of a couch potato kinda gal.  With that being said, a fenced yard would be best for me at this time so I don’t wander onto unknown places. I do need supervised at all times when I'm outside. I’m house-trained with frequent potty breaks and do great overnight! What I’m Hoping For: A calm, loving home without small children or big, bouncy dogs. I have not had any exposure to cats. Someone who enjoys having a loyal companion by their side—I’m happiest cuddled on the couch, snoozing, or getting my face scratched. A family who will cherish me and make sure I’m comfortable for the rest of my journey. Bonus Info: Sadie has been in foster care for over 9 months and has made great progress with her health. She qualifies for our LUVS program, which helps cover certain medical costs.  And let’s not forget—Sadie LOVES snacks and will happily be your taste-testing buddy for all the best dog-friendly treats. Sadie may be a senior, but she’s full of love to give and deserves the softest landing for her golden years. Could you be her perfect person? Sadie is available for adoption now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA 15144 - KL# 16182 A sponsor has donated to support this senior dog’s adoption. Rather than waiving the adoption fee, you will receive a $200 gift card to a pet store close to you to help cover supplies for your new dog. We want to ensure all dogs are adopted for the right reasons, while still giving adopters meaningful support as they welcome a new family member. ##2319467##

Story
Please contact Pet (information@pethelpersinc.org) for more information about this pet.   This absolutely adorable little boy is Jack. Poor little guy just lost his mom who he adored and she adored him just as much. Jack is now looking for someone awesome to love him and make him a member of their family. We think he is a Jack Russell Chihuahua mix. He is also a little on the chunky side. So, trying to help him lose a couple pounds to be a little healthier.  But nothing keeps this boy down. He is so darn happy go lucky! Jack is approx 3 years old and weighs around 24 lbs. He is playing so well with the other foster dogs in his home. He prefers dogs around his own size or smaller. Jack is neutered, updated on vaccines, microchipped, flea treated and wormed. He is also crate trained and seems to be housebroken.  Jack would love a home with a fenced yard to run and play but that is not a deal breaker. He is hoping to bring in the New Year with his new family.  Jack is being fostered in Clarksburg WV.  If you are interested in making Jack part of your family, click on the following link to fill out an application: https://www.pethelpersinc.org/adoption-application/     Adoption Fees: PUPPIES (under 1 year) $250.00,   Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age appropriate vaccines, heartworm/lyme test (if applicable), two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medicine and microchip. ADULT DOGS (over 1 year) $225.00,   Includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, first set of routine yearly vaccines, heartworm/lyme test, two rounds of dewormer, one  round of flea medication, and Microchip. KITTENS AND CATS $100.00,   Includes spay or neuter,  vaccine according to their age, two rounds of dewormer, one round of flea medication, felv/fiv test, and microchip. For more information on this animal email adoptionisforever@pethelpersinc.org. Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc.  They are not to be sold or given away.   Check us out on Facebook!!!!!!  We hope you will give us two paws up, like our page and share with your friends.  Pet Helpers, Inc.
