Welcome Wishbone to Murci's Mission Animal Rescue!  Wishbone is an adorable and energetic senior smooth coated Russell Terrier (short legged version of the Jack Russell Terrier) with an estimated birthdate of 09/19/2016. He came to Murci's Mission after a short stay at SCRAPS where he was picked up stray.  Unfortunately, Wishbone has gone without his basic needs met for a very long time and as a result, he is very underweight with allergic skin that has been inflammed for way too long. He is now quite the sight, skinny with big muscles and a lot of pink, bald skin. He just had a massive dental with most of his teeth extracted, and he's now on 3.6mg apoquel for life, and twice weekly medicated baths until his skin is recovered. Important: apoquel is expensive at roighly $90 per month, and keeping him on it will be a part of the adoption agreement. Do not apply for this dog if his medical needs are cost prohibitive. He will come with his current supply of meds, as well as his shampoo.  Wishbone is good with other animals and would be fine with gentle children. He is leash trained and crate trained. He likes to wear sweaters and his tiny baseball cap. He is still full of life and deserves the best golden years he can have.  Wishy comes neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. His adoption fee is waived as he is a senior, and includes a leash, collar, harness, meds, food sample, and wardrobe items. Candy Corn would love a quiet adult-only home or a home with older kids where she can relax, hang out, and be your little sidekick. She knows what she likes and isn’t afraid to let you know when something is hers! She can be quite possessive of her things, so she’ll need an adopter who understands her boundaries and is willing to respect and work with them. From our experience, Candy Corn is not a good match for other dogs, so she would do best as the only dog in the home. With the right person, patience, and understanding, this little girl could be a wonderful companion who gets to enjoy the cozy life she deserves. ❤️

Meet Mr. Duke! 🐾 Duke is a 7-year-old Blue Heeler/Terrier and Jack Russell mix looking for a patient, experienced home where he can feel safe and thrive. Duke does well with men, women, and older children. He is absolutely NOT suitable for a home with cats. His history with dogs and livestock is unknown, so introductions should be slow and careful. Duke is nervous at first and needs time to trust. Once he feels secure, he is incredibly loyal and very protective of his home and people. Because of his strong protective instincts, Duke needs land and space and is not suitable for a home with close neighbors or a typical neighborhood setting. He needs an owner who understands and is comfortable with a protective dog. Duke is reportedly housetrained, although accidents are possible while he adjusts. With patience, breed experience, and the right environment, Duke could be a devoted and wonderful companion. ❤️

ADDOPTION PENDING - Honey & her 1/2 sibling Pepper, are purebred 2 yr old Rat Terriers, together since tiny, in foster care since mid-July '26. Prior family couldn't keep them, no fault of the dogs. Both have sweet, happy, & loving dispositions - once they know you. Energetic, athletic, but also good at resting on your lap or just being near their people. Rat Terriers are smart, loyal, w/high prey drive so good hunters. They cleared a 7 yrs marmot infestation in 4 days. Honey's smart & devoted, wants to please, but can be anxious til she knows you. She had some separation anxiety, but responded well with extra attention. Kennel, dog door trained, housebroken, leash, basic commands. Likes walks, car rides, playing w/Pepper, and chasing critters, etc. Fenced yard recommended - she can be active.A home w/ active kids &/or adults would be ideal. She hasn't been around cats, so would need proper integration. Nice if adopted together. If separated, maybe new homes'd let them do playdates.
