Meet sweet little Ollie! This sweet little guy was found as a stray out in Yakima area and is now looking for a home to call his own! He is a huge cuddle bug but also loves a good zoomie run. He has done amazing with other dogs (although slightly timid at first), and is great with people. He appears to be scared of cats, but has shown no aggression. Could this cuddle bug be your perfect match?  ##2835815##

Story
MEET RUJI   Name: Ruji Age: 4 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Spitz Mix Colour: Black / Brown / White Weight: 7.9 kg (17.4 lbs) Height: 40 cm (15.7 in) at the shoulder   Her Story   Ruji was rescued from a municipal shelter in December 2022. She then spent time at a private shelter before eventually coming to the AKR Center.   During her medical examination, Ruji was diagnosed with patellar luxation and underwent corrective surgery.   With People   Ruji can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but treats are a quick way to her heart. She will take treats from new people and usually warms up fairly quickly, allowing gentle touch and affection.   Having spent most of her life in a shelter environment since she was young, Ruji simply hasn’t had many opportunities to learn how to confidently approach people and ask for attention. She genuinely likes people and is very affectionate once she feels comfortable — she just tends to express it in a quiet, gentle way.   Once she trusts you, she’ll even roll over and show you her belly. She can also be picked up comfortably with an arm supporting her under the belly.   With Other Dogs   Ruji is friendly and gets along very well with other dogs. She will approach both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and show interest in playing.   Much like she is with people, Ruji sometimes seems unsure of exactly how to express that interest. She may hover nearby, watch the other dog’s reaction, and gradually approach once she feels that her attention is welcome.   She has lived peacefully among other dogs and has shown no issues or conflicts with them.   With Cats   Ruji’s reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but a cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Ruji has a low energy level and is naturally calm and easygoing. She is perfectly happy relaxing quietly and spending much of her day resting.   Walks   Ruji walks comfortably in quieter areas. Busy roads with lots of traffic can still make her nervous, so she is currently working on becoming more comfortable around them.   She also loves using her nose! Rather than walking continuously, she tends to stop frequently to sniff and explore her surroundings. For Ruji, walks are less about covering distance and more about taking her time and experiencing all the interesting smells along the way.   At Home   Ruji has no food guarding issues with either people or other dogs and rarely barks.   She remains calm when placed in a kennel and is currently comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going outside for potty breaks.   The Home Ruji Is Looking For   Ruji is a gentle, quiet girl who has spent much of her life in shelter environments. She may not immediately rush up asking for affection, but underneath that initial shyness is a sweet dog who genuinely enjoys both people and other dogs.   She would do best with someone who understands that confidence doesn’t always happen overnight and is happy to let her approach new people, places, and experiences at her own pace.   With a little patience and a safe, loving home, we think Ruji will have so much more of her personality and affection to show. LOCATION - Foster CareThumpy is a cheerful little dog who likes to put his paws on your lap and if you`ll let him, sit in your lap. He enjoys treats and will happily rest on his blanket and snack on the goodies you give him. He seems to be a one-person kind of dog and will likely bond strongly to whoever he decides is his person. Like some little dogs he can be barky and suspicious of new people but can be won over with treats.he Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Good with dogs,
Story
***Currently located Downey, CA*** Aloha… my name is Sadie  I’m looking for a person or family who wants a real companion, not just a pet, but a friend. I want to share your quiet moments, your adventures, and everything life brings in between.   Before I was even born, life was already uncertain. My mom, Sassy, was out there on her own, doing her best to survive. Kind people in the community helped feed her, but living on the streets is never easy—especially when you’re carrying eight tiny babies. Five girls… three boys… and one very brave mama trying to keep us all alive. She did everything she could for us. Then, something amazing happened… a kind woman stepped in to make sure my mom stayed safe and fed while she cared for us. And when we were about seven weeks old, another angel helped us find a foster home. Just in time too, because the cold and rain were coming. That’s when everything changed. For the first time, I felt what it was like to be warm… to be safe… to be inside a home. Now I sleep in a cozy place, run around outside playing, and then come back in to rest without worrying about what comes next. I’ve learned how good it feels to be loved. And my favorite thing?I love being held by my Foster Mom and putting my little paws around my foster mom's arm and holding on as tight as I can. I don’t just cuddle… I hold on.  Because deep down, I think I’ve always been waiting for someone to hold onto. I love people, I love playing in the water when the weather is nice. I’m discovering all the simple joys of being a puppy, belly rubs, sniffari adventures, playtime, and just being close to my human. I’ve been to the vet, and I’m healthy, up to date on my vaccines, and even neutered. My foster mom says I’m a very good girl. I’m trying my best to learn everything I can so you will be proud of me. I am crate trainied, love my crate and sleep through the night.  I go outside to go potty.  My mom says I am a fast learner. I’m ready now… ready for my Furever Home. A home where I won’t have to wonder what tomorrow looks like. A home where I can love YOU for the rest of my life. My mom is small (about 14 lbs), and my dad, well, he’s the fluffy white guy in my pictures who looks like a poodle or poodle mix. He's lightly bigger than my mom.  I’m one of the smallest pups of the litter and I am learning to speak up for myself.  I will probably be smaller than my mom.  All I need now… is you. I hope I’m the one you’ve been looking for, because I’ve been waiting for you. If you feel that little tug on your heart, please click the Adopt button and fill out an application so we can meet. I can’t wait to finally be home.
