Good with dogs,
Story
My name is Pluto, and I’m a 2-year-old female Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing around 13kg — a perfect medium size to share everyday life with you. I’m not too small, not too big, just the right size for walks, travel, and being your daily companion. People often notice my bright, cute presence and the soft, loving look in my eyes. I may look a little shy at first, but there’s a warm and affectionate heart behind it. 💛 I was rescued just before euthanasia at a shelter. Even though I went through a difficult and uncertain time, I didn’t lose my trust in people. In fact, I still really like humans and enjoy attention and gentle affection. I also get along well with other dogs, so I can comfortably live in homes with or without other canine friends. When I first meet someone, I might seem a little quiet and reserved. I tend to observe from a short distance and take my time to understand my surroundings. But this doesn’t last long. If you speak to me gently and give me space to feel safe, I slowly come closer on my own. And once I decide you are someone I can trust… my true personality comes out. Then I become a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close, following my person around, and happily showing how excited I am to see you. 🐶✨ However, I’m still learning what “home life” means. Most of my past life was spent in a shelter, so things like living inside a house, daily routines, TV sounds, neighborhood walks, house rules, being alone for short periods, and potty training are all still new to me. Because of that, when I first arrive in a new home, I may feel unsure, nervous, or make small mistakes while I adjust. But these are not problems. They are simply part of learning how to live in a family. What I need most is patience, not pressure. If you kindly teach me step by step — potty routines, leash manners, house rules, and how to feel safe with people — I will learn and improve over time. I respond especially well to praise, encouragement, and calm guidance. When I feel safe, I really try my best to understand and grow. In the beginning, it helps me a lot if I have a quiet, safe space where I can relax and slowly get used to my new environment. A steady routine, regular walks, and a gentle approach will help me build confidence and trust. I’m not a difficult dog — I’m just a girl who hasn’t had the chance to learn yet. With the right family, I believe I can blossom into a very loving, loyal, and joyful companion. I may have started my life at a hard place, but I’m hoping my story ends with warmth, safety, and love. I’m Pluto, and I’m waiting for the family who will give me that forever home — the one I can finally call my own. 🐾

Story
My name is Lucas, and I’m a 4-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier × Welsh mix weighing around 10kg. I have a compact, sturdy body — but my short little legs are what everyone notices first. People often say I look extra adorable when I walk, and I think it’s because every step I take naturally makes people smile. 😊 For a long time, I lived in a shelter. I was rescued just before euthanasia, and since then I’ve been given a second chance at life. Now I’m staying in a training facility where I’m slowly learning what the world is like outside the shelter. Everything still feels new to me — other dogs playing freely, interesting smells on walks, toys, and especially kind human attention. It’s almost like I’m finally experiencing what it means to just be a dog. Because I’m discovering so much for the first time, I get very curious about everything around me. But there are also things I still need help understanding. Sometimes, if a hand suddenly reaches over my head or someone touches me unexpectedly, I can get scared and react defensively. In those moments, it may look like I’m trying to bite, but it’s really just fear — a way for me to protect myself when I feel unsure. When people take time to approach me gently, that behavior becomes much less, and my true personality starts to show. Because deep down… I’m actually a very sweet and affectionate boy. 💛 I just need time. What I need most is not quick bonding, but patience and understanding. If you let me come to you at my own pace instead of forcing touch or rushing interactions, I will slowly begin to trust you. It helps a lot when people approach me from the side or below rather than reaching over my head, and when they use calm voices and positive experiences to help me feel safe. Once I trust someone, I become a completely different dog — I love attention, I follow my person around, and I show a very affectionate and playful side. I also need time to adjust because I haven’t really experienced normal home life before. A house, daily routines, leash walking in neighborhoods, being alone for short periods, and house training — all of these are still new to me. At first, I may feel nervous or make mistakes, but that’s not bad behavior. It’s just me learning how to live in a home. What helps me grow is guidance, not punishment. With a stable routine, regular walks, and positive reinforcement, I can gradually build confidence and feel more secure. I’m smart and curious, and with the right support, I learn step by step at my own pace. In the beginning, it’s really important for me to have a calm environment and not too much overwhelming stimulation. If I’m given space and time to feel safe, I will slowly open my heart. And when I do, I will stay by your side with all my loyalty and love. I may not be the easiest dog at first, but I promise I have a heart that is ready to love deeply once I feel safe. I’m Lucas — a small dog with short legs, a long journey behind me, and a big hope for a forever family who will understand me and walk with me at my own pace. 🐾 Lucas

Story
Meet Ellie — your daily dose of sunshine, laughter, and pure joy wrapped up in one adorable little terrier body. Ellie is a 2 ½-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier mix who lives life at full speed and with her whole heart. From the moment you meet her, you’ll notice her bright, happy energy and the way she seems to make everything feel just a little bit more fun. She’s the kind of dog who wakes up excited for the day, ready to play, love, and soak up every bit of attention she can get. Look how adorable she is in her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/y9AcxeTtH88?si=HAW1GSZ0XWRIMbAF This girl absolutely loves love. Whether she’s rolling right into your lap for belly rubs, leaning into you for pets, or happily dancing around to make you smile (yes—she can actually do a cute little dance!), Ellie thrives on connection with her people. She isn’t just affectionate—she’s fully devoted to being your happy little shadow and your built-in source of entertainment. Ellie is also a playful, energetic spirit who is always ready for action. Toys, zoomies, games, exploring—if it sounds fun, Ellie is already there. She’s currently in a foster home with multiple other dogs and is very social, especially when it comes to playtime. She loves having dog friends who are just as excited about playing as she is. In fact, she would do best with a canine companion who can match her enthusiasm and keep up with her playful personality. She just gets so excited to have fun that she can come on a little strong with more laid-back dogs—but it all comes from a place of pure joy and eagerness. Because of her social nature, Ellie would thrive either as: • The only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for herself, or • With a playful, high-energy dog who will happily romp around with her What makes Ellie extra special is her personality. She’s not just cute (though she absolutely is with that scruffy face and bright eyes)—she’s funny. She has this silly, expressive way about her that keeps you smiling. Between her little dance moves, her playful antics, and her love of flopping dramatically into your lap for attention, she brings so much life and laughter wherever she goes. At the end of the day, Ellie is a dog who just wants to love big, play hard, and be right by your side through it all. She’s looking for a home that will embrace her joyful energy, appreciate her goofy charm, and give her the active, loving life she deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and remind you every single day how fun life can be—Ellie is your girl. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Momo At 14 years young and just 10 pounds, Momo is the definition of a gentle old soul. This sweet Jack Russell Terrier mix came to us after her beloved owner passed away, and now she’s searching for someone special to love her through her golden years. Momo may be a senior, but she still lights up for her favorite ball and enjoys leisurely walks and car rides. Once she feels safe with you, she becomes the ultimate companion — happiest curled up beside you, soaking in affection and quietly keeping you company. She gets along with calm cats, does well around respectful older children, and prefers a peaceful home where she can relax and feel secure. At her recent vet visit, Momo was described as “bright, alert, and responsive,” with a good heart and healthy lungs. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and recently had dental work completed, including extractions. Like many senior dogs, Momo has a few age-related quirks. She has limited hearing, some vision changes that make nighttime harder unless lights are on, and dermatitis on her belly. She also takes Gabapentin twice a day. But none of that changes what matters most: Momo still has so much love left to give. What she needs now is simple — a kindhearted person who understands the beauty of caring for an older dog. In return, Momo will love you with her whole heart. If you think you could give this sweet girl the comfort, patience, and love she deserves, please visit the Alternative Humane Society website and fill out a statement of interest. ##2715339##
