He is friendly and playful and a favorite where ever he goes. He has been good with both people and dogs but should be fed separately at least for now. He is hoping to find a family of his own soon! We don't know about his housetraining as most of the dogs that come to us from Texas spent most of their time outside before getting care for by a rescue group. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home. Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age. We are located in Mukwonago, WI. Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt. Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog. All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections. To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts. You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work. We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home. If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed. We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time. She is a petite girl who is good with other dogs and has some cat experience. She has only been in rescue for a few days and we look forward to getting to know her better! Interested in adoption? How to begin this story.. well I am a silly guy. I believe many myths to be true. No dog is too small for the job and no legs are too short, that includes my own stumpy legs. I look like a funny cross between a Jack Russel, maybe a Corgi and something Doodley all glued together. I call it handsome. Herbert is the name and when Im feeling spicy its, Herberto! I was a stray that found myself alone in a hospital run for weeks. Telling everyone to piss off and leave me alone, except for one lovely guy. He became my first real friend, my handler, my confidant. This young man brought me to Redemption! Where I am now learning even more about myself and this beautiful world around me. I enjoy nature, running through lake edges and streams. I dont mind getting my feet dirty or letting you rinse them off. I love fresh flowers growing in the grass and gardens, I love tearing the ground up with my swift little feet. If you arent paying attention ill spin in a circle and bounce right off of you! Funny to me, not so funny to the dog walkers. I am a typical terrier in many ways. I love to have fun, chase a ball for a moment, and nip dogs butts in play group. The terrier in me just squeals with joy at the thrill of the chase! My playmates..... ya not so much..they occasionally hand my butt back to me. I am a good sport though and can let most things go. Now with that being said; I crave a strong leader. Some one that isn't afraid to keep me on my toes, make sure I complete all my chores and stay on my best behavior. Its true that I push the envelope, but I promise I just wanna be a good boy...most of the time. Herbert is a loving social boy that would do great in a home with another dog, he also doesn't mind cats and could live happily with older considerate children. Herbert walks nicely on a leash, is crate and potty trained, but still needs some work on sharing things he values. He has a slight spicy side that can be tamed with a good full routine and physical activity. He really is an amazing dog that would do best with an owner that has terrier experience. Senior lady Molleigh has been part of the New Rattitude family for many years, and her story is one of love, change, and quiet strength. She first came to the rescue in 2020 with her daughter when their family made the difficult decision to surrender them. Both girls found loving homes, and at age 11, Molleigh settled into a wonderful life with two devoted parents, a spacious home filled with sunlight, and plenty of windows for critter-watching—plus uninterrupted snuggle time. Five years later, through no fault of her own, Molleigh finds herself looking for a home. Her adopters, now facing age- and health-related challenges, could no longer provide the care she needs. Now 16 years-old, Molleigh is once again in foster care—comfortingly, with the same foster family who lovingly cared for her back in 2020. Molleigh is a 19 lb. lady who enjoys the simple pleasures in life: long naps in a cozy dog bed, leisurely walks, and tasty treats. She’s a gentle soul who does well with cats and calm dogs. While she spent much of her life around a child, at this stage she would be happiest in a peaceful home without active young children. Stairs are hard for Molleigh, and since she doesn’t like being carried, a single-level home is important for her comfort and safety. She was house-trained in the past, but now uses potty pads—either because she’s forgotten or simply can’t hold it as well as she once did. After so much transition, Molleigh deserves a quiet, loving home where she can relax, feel secure, and be cherished for the rest of her life.
