Tilly had scabs, no fur in areas, aggressive skin issues. Tilly was soon diagnosed with hyperesthesia - a condition unknown to many but a harsh reality for him. It caused him to descend into compulsive grooming and self-mutilation - damaging his beautiful coat and scarring his skin. At the same time, his unsteady gait and seizure-like symptoms left him frightened and confused. His once sparkling personality was rapidly replaced by suffering and incapacitation.Tillman’s battle against hyperesthesia is ongoing, but he is far from defeated.
