Rescue FAQs

Founded in 1995, Georgia Heartland Humane Society is built on the belief that all life is sacred and every animal deserves a pain-free, peaceful existence. We are a nonprofit, entirely funded by public generosity — receiving no government assistance — and supported by strong community and business partnerships. While we do not operate a shelter, we provide vital services to local residents and their companion animals. Our dedicated volunteers share a passion for finding loving homes for every pet and work tirelessly toward that goal through community service programs.
We serve Coweta and surrounding counties. We are approximately 30 miles south of Atlanta, GA.

We require a 1. pre-adoption questionnaire to be filled out first. meeting will be set up to meet pet in person
A veterinarian reference required
Home visits for dogs may be virtual. Our adoption fees range from $200 to $450, depending on the breed and age of the dog. Final adoption contracts will be completed at PetSmart in Newnan, GA when possible. All fosters will be spayed/neutered, received all vaccinations, and microchipped prior to placement. Adopt fees for cats are $85 - $175 depending on age and breed.
