Meet Gucci – Your Spirited Sidekick! Basic Info: Name: Gucci Breed: Jindo / Terrier Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 12, 2023 Weight: 30 lbs Intake Date: April 11, 2024 Personality – Outgoing & Adventurous: Gucci is the life of the party! This spunky little guy is full of charm, energy, and curiosity. Whether he's trotting confidently on a walk, wagging his tail at new people, or bouncing around with toys, Gucci brings good vibes wherever he goes. He loves exploring, playing, and being part of the action. Friendly with a dash of sass, Gucci is the kind of pup who will keep your days active and your heart full. Breed Information: As a Jindo and Terrier mix, Gucci blends independence and intelligence with tenacity and drive. Jindos are known for being loyal, alert, and clean, while Terriers are energetic, clever, and bold. Gucci's mixed heritage gives him a bright mind and a confident personality. He’ll thrive in a home that provides mental and physical stimulation, clear boundaries, and plenty of affection. Owner Responsibilities: Ensure routine veterinary care and vaccinations Provide daily exercise and playtime Use positive reinforcement training to keep his sharp mind engaged Create a structured, loving home environment Supervise interactions with other pets as he adjusts Keep him safely indoors as part of the family Offer patience, consistency, and affection Commitment for Life: Gucci deserves a forever family who will stick by his side through every phase of life. Adopting him means committing to his physical and emotional well-being—not just today, but always. From the energetic young dog stage to his golden years, Gucci is counting on you to be his home, his protector, and his best friend. Never Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Gucci is not a backyard dog. He should never be tied out or left alone outside. Tethering is dangerous, isolating, and unfair to a social, active dog like him. He thrives on companionship and safety—and he belongs inside, close to the people who love him. Why Adopt Gucci? If you're looking for a cheerful, clever companion with tons of personality, Gucci is your guy. He's got just the right mix of pep and love, perfect for someone who wants a fun and loyal dog to share adventures and downtime. Adopt Gucci, and gain a friend who brings joy to every moment. Story
Hi, I`m Trixie! Living here, I`ve made lots of friends, both canine and human. I love spending my days playing or just chilling out. I`ve lived with other dogs before and we got along great! I`m quite the independent spirit, happy to explore a bit on my own, but I always come back for a good cuddle. I`m friendly and sweet, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail after a long day. Looking for a loyal friend who can bring joy and companionship? I`m your girl! Let`s start our adventure together.* I have been really shy in the Shelter and have not met kids while here.* My previous owner reported I lived well with kids of all ages.

Story
The Griswold family- Mum Ellen, sister Audrey, and brother Russell, showed up on a man’s land in Tehuacana, not a safe environment, and so only Audrey & Russ had survived of the litter. Luckily they were taken to safety at a small, rural shelter in Wortham, Texas.  Unfortunately Audrey, and all the animals at the shelter, have little prospects as the shelter does little to no adoptions. There is a small group of individuals in Wortham that work tirelessly to network (and vet, on a very limited budget) these animals to foster-based rescues in and out of Texas that are willing to consider them. Red Fern was contacted by one of these volunteers who, together with her high school daughter, go to the holding facility every day to walk the dogs, socialize them, take them to the vet, and just spend quality time with them. Audrey is very unique looking mixed breed- her Mum is a Chow (pictured last). She is quite shy and will need a patient adopter to gain her trust, but we are working on it. She is happy and plays, but doesn't like to be picked up just yet, she freezes when you do. She would do best with another dog as she's comfortable with other dogs and seeing another dog trust and interacting with their adopter will help her build trust.  She is currently up to date on all her vaccines and will be spayed soon. Audrey has made the journey from Wortham, Texas, to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2602328##

Ellen had a litter of several puppies, sadly only two survived. She's very protective of her last two. This dutiful Mum carries her food bowl to the more scared puppy. Ellen is sweet and friendly once she is comfortable with you and we don't blame her. She likes to ride shot gun in the car! Ellen likes attention, but does not demand it. She prefers the open yard over her kennel- a true outdoorswoman.
