Story
Rocky is a stunning dog with piercing eyes. He's more reserved at first, preferring to watch and let other dogs take the lead. But once there's toys involved, this guy is all gas and no brakes.  He loves sitting out in the yard in the sun. When he's not chewing his rope toy or chasing his ball, you can find him sprawling out in the Colorado sunshine.  Rocky is potty trained - having no accidents in the house. Although due to his age, he does need to be let our every few hours. He is very food motivated and a faster learner, sitting with his little popped paw for cuteness.  Rocky sleeps quietly overnight in his crate and curls up with his sister during downtime. Adopt Rocky to be your next partner in crime!  ##2660788##

Story
Lizzie is a spunky, sassy, gal. Her foster mom says that Lizzie reminds her of the little sister who rides bikes with her older brothers in pearls, pink rain boots, and lipstick - fearlessly leading them all with a smile on her face!  If you're doing something, Lizzie is right there with you. She's there for sunbathing, toy chasing, snacks, and cuddles. She is very food-motivated and a fast learner.  She's potty trained with no accidents. Although due to her age, she still does need to be let out every few hours. She sleeps through the night in her create and is working on settling-in in the crate during the day. She can't help it! She wants to hang out!  Lizzie girl is exactly who she thinks she is  ##2660786##

Story
The Griswold family- Mum Ellen, sister Audrey, and brother Russell, showed up on a man’s land in Tehuacana, not a safe environment, and so only Audrey & Russ had survived of the litter. Luckily they were taken to safety at a small, rural shelter in Wortham, Texas.  Unfortunately Audrey, and all the animals at the shelter, have little prospects as the shelter does little to no adoptions. There is a small group of individuals in Wortham that work tirelessly to network (and vet, on a very limited budget) these animals to foster-based rescues in and out of Texas that are willing to consider them. Red Fern was contacted by one of these volunteers who, together with her high school daughter, go to the holding facility every day to walk the dogs, socialize them, take them to the vet, and just spend quality time with them. Audrey is very unique looking mixed breed- her Mum is a Chow (pictured last). She is quite shy and will need a patient adopter to gain her trust, but we are working on it. She is happy and plays, but doesn't like to be picked up just yet, she freezes when you do. She would do best with another dog as she's comfortable with other dogs and seeing another dog trust and interacting with their adopter will help her build trust.  She is currently up to date on all her vaccines and will be spayed soon. Audrey has made the journey from Wortham, Texas, to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2602328##
