Story
Say hi to Charlie (red) and Buddy (grey). These bonded boys are both estimated to be about 3 yrs old. Their size difference has nothing to do with age- that’s just their situation. Buddy is a typical husky- opinionated, goofy, full of confidence and a huge fan of attention. Charlie is likely a klee Kai and is full grown at half the size, a bit reserved, gorgeous, patient and happy to let his brother distract while he sizes things up. Charlie also had some injuries around his ears that have been treated and are healing nicely. I got time with them just a couple days after neuter surgery- the reason for the dreaded cones and the crowded space. These 2 are certain to make life an adventure and full of laughter for a lucky family. They are very bonded and flow together like water. Will there be a LOT of fur in your house with them in the family? I can’t lie- yes. Very much. But they both loved getting scratches and pets so I feel confident they’ll take well to regular brushing sessions which will help manage the shedding. They also are so danged good looking, a bit of fuzz on all your surfaces can be forgiven.

Meet Duffy💛 💙 Name: Duffy 💙 Gender: Male 💙 Age: Estimated 1 year old (Born in September 2024) 💙 Weight: 13 kg / 28.66 lb 💙 Duffy's News Account: @duffy.thedoggie 1. Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped and heartworm negative. 2. Rescue Story * Duffy was staying at the Miryang City Shelter, where an Adogs staff member was volunteering. The shelter was already at capacity with stray animals, and the list of euthanasia was regularly being updated. Upon noticing that Duffy's name was on the list, Adogs couldn't delay the rescue any longer and decided to rescue him. 3. Basic Information * With People: Is very timid around strangers; instead of approaching first, he prefers to just sniff from a distance and tends to shy away from hands. However, he will come closer if there are treats! Once he becomes familiar with someone, he becomes less startled by their movement or sounds and even sleeps peacefully around them. Doesn’t avoid familiar people, but doesn’t approach them first and tends to spend his time independently. * With Dogs: Shows some curiosity to other dogs, but tends to spend time independently without playing with them. Plays with leaves by himself. Sometimes gets a little bullied by other dogs. * With Cats: Barks at them, so careful monitoring is needed. * Separation Anxiety: When his foster parent returns home, he comes out of the room to check on them and then spends his time independently. * Potty Training: Is pottying indoors. May have potty accidents when he gets startled. May need training if his environment changes. * Hygiene: If you approach him slowly in his kennel and touch him first and then his paw, he may gently pull his paws away, but allows his nails to be trimmed without any nipping or biting. Although he’s still nervous, he does well even with long brushing sessions. * Walks: Walking is still unfamiliar to him. Gets scared and tries to run away when you try to put on the leash, and he occasionally has potty accidents due to nervousness. Walks quickly or tries to hide due to fear, so he’s mainly being trained with walks indoors. When out for quick walks, he got startled when the leash wrapped around his legs or when hearing motorcycles. Needs time to adjust to new environments and noises. * Car Sickness: Got so nervous in the car that he had a potty accident. * Biting: Shows absolutely no signs of aggression and does not try to bite or growl. * Barking: Sometimes barks defensively. Tends to bark for a couple of minutes in the kennel but settles down quickly. It doesn’t seem due to separation anxiety. When moved to a new environment, he howls while settling in. It’s on the severe side at first, but it quickly becomes better as he adjusts. * Likes: Loves food and treats. Enjoys chewing on chew toys and playing with nosework toys. * Dislikes: Is especially fearful of strangers. Is scared of leashes and harnesses. * Personality: Is very independent and enjoys his alone time. Since the world is still scary for him, he tends to be cautious and timid. It is important to be patient with him until he feels comfortable enough to open up.

Story
Awwooooo!!! Adopt me!   LAKOTA is an affectionate, gentle, playful (and at first - a little bit shy). but is now available for adoption to the public!!   Background: Lakota was picked up as a stray on 7/27 and brought to a shelter. He was thin and leggy, and originally thought to be a wolf hybrid (and therefore rescue only to wolf-sanctuaries). He stole our heart and we advocated for him by presenting info to the staff which gave them the resources to properly phenotype him. We also presented his photos & videos to other rescue groups that specialize in Northern breeds who also weighed in. Our favorite, wolf-sanctuary-sister-rescue and friend, Dr. Lorin Linder, Ph.D., MPH. of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center also reviewed the photos/videos and provided her expert opinion to the shelter. He's now been properly labeled as an Alaskan Malamute mix and because of his lovely, friendly temperament, can become the forever companion to a very lucky person or family.   Despite all of Lakota's people-friendly qualities, Lakota is reactive to other dogs so only adopters with experience with strong, Northern breed dogs will be considered, and he will not be placed in a home with other dogs or pets. The REALLY AWESOME DOGS don't stay long in rescue, and Sonny will be one of them. If you are ready to adopt and need a little more HAPPY in your life then come meet Sonny! This young (about a year old) and gorgeous guy is happy, playful, and incredibly smart. He loves to play tug-o-war, catch a ball, splash in water if he is lucky enough to have access to a small plastic kid's pool! It's not HIS fault his Human could not keep him, and like all dogs that live in the moment, he just wants to LOVE. He is dog-friendly (with other playful and respectful dogs) and would do great with an active family with kids. Sonny is in a foster home in Southern California (Santa Clarita Valley) and is Ready to Meet YOU now! Sonny is happy, healthy, neutered, has all current vaccinations, and is microchipped. He has his very own duffel bag which contains his brand new collar, leash, bed, bowl, and bag of high quality dog food. To meet Sonny, please reach out to us: angels@akitaangels.org October 22, 2024, 12:35 pm
