Dobby is a very relaxed dog in his environment - we as a family have had no issues. He is very clean, quiet and was easily house trained. He interacts with other dogs well, as we have a consistent pattern of dog parks. He has not been around kids, as we don't have any in our home, but he has generally been good when left to his own devices. We have has no biting incidents with guests or strangers, but Chows are naturally drawn and protective of their owners, so we would ideally like to rehome him with a family or person that has time to get to know him and gain his trust. This is a tough decison as we have had Dobby for over 2 years. A family member bought this dog and has moved and we simply don't have the where with all to give Dobby the time and attention he deserves. Dobby's anxiety and then defenses kick in with groomers and vets, so meds are key.

This sweet pup is having a hard time adjusting to the shelter environment. The loud noises and anxious energy around him can make him feel nervous and overwhelmed. But once he’s away from the stress, his gentle personality really begins to shine. He’s affectionate, easy to handle, and enjoys quiet attention from people he trusts. He can still be a little timid and flinchy with sudden movements, so he’ll need a calm, patient family that will give him time and space to settle in without overwhelming him. With understanding, reassurance, and a peaceful home, we believe he will grow into a truly wonderful and loving companion.
