Story
Hello! My name is Buddy, and I'm a 4-year-old boy weighing 13.2kg, looking for the family I've always dreamed of.
I was waiting in a municipal shelter with my time running out. I was on the euthanasia list, but thankfully, I was rescued just in time. That rescue gave me a second chance at life—and now I'm hoping my next chapter will be with my forever family.
I'm a friendly and easygoing dog who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Whether I have furry siblings to play with or I'm the only dog in the house, I'm perfectly happy either way. I'm independent enough to enjoy my own company but also love sharing my life with others.
People are pretty wonderful too! I'm friendly with both adults and children, and I'm not especially afraid of men. That said, I do seem to have a soft spot for women, especially gentle, nurturing women like moms or grandmas. They make me feel safe, and I tend to open my heart to them very quickly. 🤍
One of my favorite things in the world is playing with toys! When I'm feeling playful, I might let out a little bark as if to say, "Come play with me!" I also love cozy places, especially soft beds. If I'm sleeping beside my person, you'll often find me curled up near your legs or feet. But don't worry—I also sleep very well on my own, so I'm perfectly comfortable sleeping separately at night.
I'm a little sensitive to loud noises. Sudden sounds, passing cars, or motorcycles can startle me, but I'm not the type to bark excessively because of them. I simply need a little reassurance while I build my confidence.
I'm still working on my walking manners. I enjoy going for walks and prefer doing my business outside, but I could use a little more leash training. With patience and consistency, I'm sure I'll become an excellent walking companion.
Car rides are probably my biggest challenge right now. I get motion sickness and can become anxious during long drives. You might notice me drooling, getting a runny nose, or breathing through my mouth. Even so, I usually stay settled by sitting or lying down instead of pacing around.
One thing I'm really proud of is that I don't have separation anxiety. I'm quite comfortable spending time on my own. Around the house, I'm also a curious little explorer! I love sniffing every interesting scent and sometimes even licking the floor while I investigate. Because of my curious nose, my family will just need to keep an eye out to make sure I don't accidentally pick up anything I shouldn't.
I've already learned a few tricks! I know "sit" and "paw," and I can even do "down" when I'm on the bed. I'm a smart boy, and I'd love to keep learning new things with a family that enjoys training and spending time together.
I'm the kind of dog who can happily relax by myself, but when I want your attention, I'll bring you a toy or give a small bark to let you know it's playtime. I have a sweet way of communicating, and I think you'll quickly learn all my little expressions.
My life almost ended before it truly began, but someone gave me a second chance. Now all I dream about is a warm bed, my favorite toys, peaceful walks, and a family to love for the rest of my life.
I may not be perfect, but I'll reward your patience with loyalty, affection, and countless happy memories.
